Success. From poor to wealthy. Poor but changed his life as a Marine. Poor then he wrote a book which was made into a movie. Poor but became a Senator then VP.
He broke the mold. He didn't inherit wealth and power. He is an exceptional public speaker. They are terrified of him. He is the meritocracy which they loathe.
He shows poor people can shape their own destiny. As long as Trump doesn't start WWIII, he is a shoe in for the nomination and he will destroy any of the clowns currently in the field. I am sorry we didn't get to see him dismantle Kammy.

1) They hate Trump because he's a political outsider who won't condone business-as-usual.
2) They hate Elon because he's looking into what those crooks have been doing with OUR MONEY.
3) They hate (FEAR) J.D. because he's the prodigal son, only even more polished and likeable than Daddy Trump.
Trump is NOW. J.D. is both NOW and LATER.

If you want an honest answer (I’m not on the left).
I find him distasteful because he was on record multiple times describing exactly how bad Trump was and wrote an entire book about how people come from his background and then compromise what they believe to seek power.
His political career is also almost singularly funded by one billionaire whose world view is fundementally anti democratic.
Finally, he’s about as inauthentic as they come. Say what you want about Trump, but he’s a funny compelling guy. It’s not a put on.

Trump at his core is cool. JD at his core is a power hungry nerd.
That’s why I don’t like him.
