re: Why does Fauci get so much flack?

This thread would be incomplete without mentioning that the most likely origin for HIV is the Koprowski CHAT oral polio vaccine fed to over a million African kids in the Congo in the late 50s. The vaccine was likely grown in chimp kidney tissue cultures, and chimps carry the closest known SIV. Koprowski, aided and abetted by Fauci and others, obstructed the inquiries of journalists in the 90s and never produced records of exactly how CHAT was made. Fauci showed no interest in finding out. He and his ilk controlled the narrative, and they won.

Fail.
None of those people are my "folks".
Again, you're proving my point. You're deflecting with lies and innuendo instead of pointing the finger at the man responsible for the COVID response.

No. The fact is that if a democrat was in the WH, they would've gotten all the blame, not some obscure bureaucrat.
If a democrat had been POTUS, Covid wouldn't even had been a thing. No way a democrat would shut down the economy in an election year. No friggin way.

He’s a narcissistic hack. Like Obummer.
It’s all about him. Oh, did I mention that his likability quotient is -250. And lying is is his preferred method of communicating. Other than that, he’s just another short a-hole who stands about 5’5”. Compensatory facades galore…

Almost every country in the world shut down.

This would be why Jonas Salk spent his last days (and most of his fortune, I've read) seeking to cure HIV. There's the distinct possibility that in attempting to rid the world of polio, the scientific community inadvertently unleashed HIV/AIDS.

Because people weren't able to see their dying loved ones due to his shitty advice.

Indeed. The Salk vaccine definitely introduced the monkey virus SV40 to humans. It appears to be rather harmless, but it proves the plausibility of the hypothesis. Scientists didn’t even know about SIVs until the 80s, so not surprisingly, they didn’t screen the vaccines for them. Like with Covid origins, it was a tragic and honest mistake of well-intentioned work. The coverup is what is nefarious. People have a right to know and to have a say in whatever remedy is appropriate.

Yep, that's the accusation. Fauci's recommendations were fairly standard for public health officials around the world and if you have to acknowledge that ours was close to a median response, you've got to either allege mass incompetence or mass conspiracy on a worldwide scale. There's a heuristic for motivation attribution that your OP made me think of - "never attribute to malice what could be adequately explained by stupidity" (Hanlon's razor). There's a lot to be proud of in the pandemic response, but a lot that should have been done better. It was a mixed bag.

He simply didn’t know what to do in that situation
You answered your own question. If he had not a single clue what to do for a coronavirus pandemic, he should've resigned his position as the highest medical authority of the land immediately. Instead, he used his position as an avenue for 15 mins of fame without knowing what the frick he was actually doing.
That, of course, is without considering anything he may or may not have had to do with black laboratories in China.

You do?
I don't. I'm sorry you feel compelled to vote by party line. I've never been a member of any political party. Besides, I prefer "Turnip-in-Chief".
I remember when you were just a nurse. Where'd you get your doctor's license, the O-T Lounge?

quote:Yep. He did just as your folks screamed he should do. He listened to the "experts."
But Trump sure did, didn't he?
When he didn't listen, and instead shut off Chinese travel, your folks wailed and screeched ... "Racist!" "Bigot!" "Xenophobe!" "Ignorant!" and "LISTEN TO THE EXPERTS!"
"Experts" at the CDC said "We've got this." They didn't.
Fauci said "I am science." He wasn't.
Scarf lady promised "Two weeks will stop the spread." It didn't.
Trump did exactly as your folks insisted, and he got burned. But you are right. That's on him. He should have personally overseen and directed CDC CV19 test kit manufacturing. He should have personally analyzed genetic make up of CV19 to establish it was not naturally derived.

He provided the funding to create the monster virus and lied about it. He even "predicted"an unknown pandemic was going to happen. He is pure evil
He was a big fan of "gain of function research" and when funding for it in America was banned, he funded Eco-Health who paid Wuhan Lab to do it in China. Eco-Health also provide the tech that the Chinese lab didn't have in order to do the GOF research on coronaviruses. Transfer of that tech alone should be a capital crime.
He lied about it to Congress too.
