Jews are the smallest minority in the US. This is why they are wary of the Christian majority and favor organizations like the ACLU and the Southern Poverty Law Center. I know Jews with college degrees who are convinced the KKK is alive and kicking everywhere.
also the whole urban variable plays into this. Jews are concentrated in urban areas and that leans left by default

The major factor and one is that Jewish people have traditionally been the voice of the minority which is what the democratic party used to be for because by siding with the majority has dealt historical blowbacks to Jews in Germany in WWII but also in Russia during the Bolshevik revolution and before that in Greece on a large scale but on smaller scales this has also been seen in Africa or Persia. The majority isn't always your friend when once they get in power and seek to put their foot down on the throat of other minorities because the Jews often get thrown into the mix.
Jews economically though for the most part are very conservative or moderate-conservative leaning. Now the Democratic Party's move towards being in the majority rule has caused a mass shift in Jews towards the Republican Party but as you can see by a few comments on this board there are those who will take the Jewish support but then burn them at the stake once they get into power because they aren't "Christian" or "Catholic". The reality is that Christians and Catholics are now the minority world-wide and they now need the Jewish support now more than ever to prevent what the democratic party is moving towards and that is laying the groundwork for the Islamification of North America and Western Europe.
There is a reason that Russia reached out to Israel a couple of years ago to strengthen their bonds and its because of what Russia fears is taking place towards the South and East of their country a growing and active religious proxy war.

This insignificant country is the true leader in cyberwarfare defense and offense globally and is fifteen years ahead of the United States and everyone else (including China) on advantages in preventing attacks at home and in launching attacks abroad. Israel started building up its IT infrastructure in the 1970's and the US is significantly dependent on Israel in the event of a global cybersecurity war. Without Israel the US falls in seconds whether you want to come to grips with this fact or not and this is the reason the US spends on Israel as we are paying them as our managed services to our cyber defense. I'm sure many will find my comments crazy but the truth of the matter is the US is totally vulnerable in every facet. The nuclear weapon is a thing of the past but a cyber nuclear weapon is a thing of the future and our IT infrastructure has been totally compromised whereas Israel's is not because of the safe guards on the system in the hiring criteria & selection process.

They were the Bolsheviks during the Russian Revolution. The Morranos (Conversos) that fled to Ottoman-occupied Salonika actually aligned with the Muslim Turks and attacked the indigenous Greek and Armenian Christians on their own indigenous soil at that time (see: Dohnme).

Most American Jews don't identify as being a Jew through religion but through ethnicity.
Secular Jews are predominately atheists and or non-religious. They don't care about Israel.
Orthodox Jews vote overwhelmingly for conservative candidates and Israel is a major concern to them.
This is not a new development.
Even 2000 years ago there were many "non religious jews" They were identified as the Sadducees who did not believe in an afterlife.

Yet the 958 were highly influential in the Bolshevik movement and cause. By the way, does this somewhat explain why many Jews prefer Muslim Turkey over Russia? AIPAC was in favor of attacking the Christian Serbs on their own soil in the Balkans to protect the Albanians (Ottoman leftovers that invaded Europe in the past) and the left in America has been pushing to protect Turkish and Albanian interest over Russian interest, since the Ottoman Empire was more favorable to Jews than the Christian Byzantine Empire that Russia, Greece, and Serbia are trying to re-establish.
For whatever reason, the Israelis and most Jews, including "secular" Jews, really fear a potential Byzantine Empire and instead favor an Ottoman Empire and Turkey as a protectorate for Israel, since Israelis know that the US cannot be the protectorate forever.

Well historically, in Europe and the Mid East, Jews were likely indeed treated better by Muslims than Christians. But that's all in the past and Europe is secular and Islam is the obvious danger to anyone with a brain. But Jews are living in the past, much like a black person who still thinks the kkk lurks behind every bush.

Muslims and Jews actually get along quite well in Western host nations and are willing to set aside any grievances they tend to have with one another at home in the Mideast. Some even suggest that the mass migration of Muslims into Western nations serves Israel's vital interest, since changing the demographics to make Western nations mirror that of Israel's predicament (surrounded by Muslims) will assure that Western nations never abandon Israel. It is basically a coercive strategy to ensure Israel that the West will have the same enemy for eternity.
If Europe was still all white and America was still circa 1% Muslim, then Westerners would become complacent and no longer sympathize with what the Israelis are experiencing on a daily basis. Red Eye host Greg Gutfeld slipped up on air one time and basically admitted this when the muslim migration was taking place after Merkel's decision, which really wasn't her decision, was taking place in Europe prior to the Cologne mass rape jihad.

On the plus side for Republicans compared to 2012, the Jewish vote was up 2% for Trump than it was for Romney. So maybe the Republicans are getting a better grip on the Jews.
