DeSantis orders statewide shutdown for Florida through April

By Gray Rohrer and Steven LemongelloOrlando Sentinel
Apr 01, 2020

Gov. Ron DeSantis is ordering all Floridians to stay at home beginning at 12:01 a.m. Friday, a decision that came after mounting pressure from health officials and other critics to lock down the state in the fight against the coronavirus.

“It makes sense to make this move now,” DeSantis said.
“It’s another 30-day situation,” DeSantis said. “And we’ve got to do what makes sense.”
DeSantis has ordered bars and nightclubs to close, issued stay home orders for South Florida, limited restaurants to take out and delivery only and banned non-emergency medical procedures. But he said Tuesday that he hadn’t received an explicit recommendation from the White House’ coronavirus task force to issue a statewide order.

“The task force has not recommended that to me, if they do obviously that would be something that would carry a lot of weight with me,” DeSantis said Tuesday.

Admitted germaphobe. I think this was well known by whoever either possibly released this thing, and or why his opponents were able to exploit his mental paralysis.

Ron's mistake with covid was listening to Trump, when he stopped this was the nickname the left gave him.

Imagine him not doing it as the rest of the WHOLE WORLD did.

If we wanted Leftists running the country like most of the rest of the word, we would have voted for Hillary.

Your argument does Trump no good, particularly given we're all to believe Trump is going to dismantle the permanent Washington beginning Jan '25.

Trump wasn't perfect, but let's not pretend that wasn't a "political" move following the left's ideology in an election year.

Trump's worst day shits on anything some stupid fricking liberal has in their lone shining moment.

Amazing how Ron’s mistakes can be laid at trumps feet. Trump never gave any order to lock down. Between the two only Ron gave an order. Still…trumps fault.

But those aren't the options available in a primary.

Reality is threads like this are a response to the NeverDeSantis cultists more so than genuine shots at Trump

Being completely honest, I grade everyone in the initial COVID days on a curve, Trump included. I don't even really object to his pushback on Kemp, only that it looks ridiculous when he calls Kemp/DeSantis RINOs while he was doing that stuff.

His shitty hires were 10x worse than his tweets, which were cringy enough.

The man isn't a leader. He's an instigator. He'll be more successful behind the scenes.

Explain Kemp and GA? Sweden? Clearly he viewed it as being the right call, this is something you will never be right on because Trump's actions and words speak for itself. That said I am not the one highlighting this, it is Trump himself with the stupid nicknames.

Fauci was not an appointment. He was part of the SQ. I think Trump wanted to fire the bastard toward the end of his term. But during the campaign the Dem ads would be:
"Trump fires only man who can save lives!"
So, he decided to ride it out and then fire him after the election.

Amazing how Governor's are accountable for following Trump's CDC/NIH guidance, but Trump isn't.

Never said trump wasn’t accountable. I said between the two only one issued an order. Sorry you don’t like that fact.
