It was actually never higher under Obama than Bush.
Still waiting on that link.

The 2009 budget was set in 2008, before Obama took office.
The $787B stimulus was added to the 2009 budget after Bush left office. (Dimocratix held both chambers and the White house.)

The 2009 deficit was the high water mark.
From 2010 on, it's dropped.
Nobody is disputing this.

The deficit is only temporarily declining, so whatever decline happening right now has nothing to do with a policy.

a) the FY 2009 budget was not passed until after the election, by a Democratic Congress, and with Obama's input (w/ GWB's blessing).

b) the "stimulus" was a "supplement" to the FY 2009 budget WHICH MEANS IT WAS PART OF THAT BUDGET and was passed by a Democratic Congress was signed by BARACK OBAMA.
Thanks, Obama!

Bush actually owns FY2009
He may own part of it. He does not "own" the almost $900 billion dollar "supplement" that has been part of the "baseline" budget ever since.

FY 2009 began in 10/08. Ok.
Obama took control in 1/09 and shortly after enacted the stimulus. That completely changed the spending and was the reason for the massive deficit that year.
Are telling me that Bush's proposed budget, the one approved by a D House and Senate for FY 2009 was not altered by the stimulus?

So you've made several completely incorrect statements in this thread and have yet to correct a single one.
That's the hallmark of a liar.

actually only like 200B of it was spent in 2009. Most of the bloat from 2009 came from TARP.
Yall are really fricking idiots when it comes to this. Just get a grip on reality.

It's like I said a few weeks ago. Obama will end his presidency with ~46% approval and will have a reasonably good legacy and approval in a few years, after people can look back on him without a Republican having a meltdown ever few seconds.

You could be right. I just doubt it.
