Sounds like only crony capitalism and completely not partisan.

Embarrassing.

If it was even close to a 1:1 ratio, the media would be crucifying him as a republican donor

Well this is a different argument altogether.

Unless the Bahamas refuses to extradite him (and it's possible given how he paid them off), he's going to go to jail. The question is for what crime and for how long. He's basically admitted to crimes in his interviews, but he's trying to play the dumb-negligence card, which would get him out of the real serious charges.

He could get an Elizabeth Holmes sentence instead of a Madoff sentence.

He had biggest sights set than partisanship. He wanted to craft the regulations for hid industry that would have excluded competitors from the market. THAT was the end game.

Does he lean DEM? Almost certainly.

But that wasn't the important part of his giving. Now, could you argue that since DEMs were in power, he had an interest in maintaining his relationships with them? Sure. But if FTX imploded in 2023 instead of 2022, he'd be greasing plenty of GOP wheels now that they control Congress.

There are no absolute motivations. The crony capitalism motivation was probably 50-100x stronger than the partisan one.

99.5% is not a lean. Drop the stupidity and walk away from this thread.

And when he is prosecuted, then what?

Will everyone disagreeing with me in this thread admit it, or will they create a conspiracy theory where he's called the fall guy or patsy?

I will plant my flag arguing that he will be prosecuted.

Yes he did oin smaller amounts. The Republicans all had one thing in common. They were all Never Trumpers.

I think he will be prosecuted.

There’s no reason to pretend the opposite scenario - that he is getting no favors and that he is not partisan.

can you please summarize how he ran into ground?

how was this scheme any different from a run of the mill ponzi where the operation skims off top for the operator and pays first people with 3rd guy money.

What favors?

I never said he didn't have a personal-partisan lean

But I don't think his donations were really part of a partisan plan. They were a crony capitalist plan to get him in with the people who could write his ticket. Those were DEMs when FTX was growing. His political support would have changed post-2020 election because the GOP is now the people who could write his ticket.

*ETA: By the public numbers, I'm not saying it would go to 50-50 but more like 25-75. He has said that he gave closer to 50-50, but he gave "dark" to the GOP people. He's a sociopath so this may be a lie but it also wouldn't shock me.

Could be up to a BILLION in money bribes and kickbacks in the US and around the world.
Nothing but a corrupt POS Fraud the stole billions from his customers.
Should be in jail for life already instead of on social media laughing in his customers' faces.
