So is incurring huge debt for a college degree and then being a lowlife and asking for a handout.

Circumstances change for people all the time. Being unable to pay a debt is not necessarily a moral failing deserving of being called a lowlife.

You're probably perfectly fine with the bankruptcy process though I bet. Like most of this board, you save your moral indignation for individuals. You love simping for corporations.

Not sure why you’re laughing. Again, where did I say anything about doing something more than leftists?

It is Saturday, so you may be drunk. Better than just being stupid I guess.

Nope. You must not have much money though, since you seem so petty.

I don't have the full $1.5T that we are talking about but have enough. That's not really a petty amount of money.

You may actually be too stupid to insult.

Then take pity on me. Explain it. Show me where I said anything about “right leaning people simp[ing] for corporations more than leftists.” That’s your quote. Your words. You said it. So show me. I’ll wait.

It’s a self-contained statement. Are you retarded?

Where’s the doing something more than leftists part? Invisible text? Do I have to wait longer for your big reveal? I’m on the edge of my seat. Please don’t make me wait any longer.

I don’t understand how student loan debt is anybody’s problem besides the deadbeat borrower or unwise lender. On an individual basis. Is this “crisis” overblown like everything else?

The same way people stuck in dead end jobs think it’s everyone else problem they don’t make more money, the same way people think their gender/race/religion/etc are everyone else’s problem, this country has made people think they are never the reason for their lack of success

A significant portion of our country used student loans as supplemental income. This is on top of every other handout they were receiving from the government. They never intended to pay them back. The government knew they would default. The plan to “forgive” student loan debt has been in the works since before the government took over the industry. It’s one big scam.

Follow the numbers, don’t loan black people money to go to for profit colleges.

I don't know if this is still the case, but years ago schools with high student loan default rates had their eligibility to participate in loan programs revoked. HBCU's were exempt from this.

Maybe in some cases.

Now consider a teacher or a European History is Evil degree who has 50+ in debt vs a pipe fitter or truck driver who can make upwards of 6 figures assuming we don't keep killing off their jobs for the Climate Change hoax.

I'm all for a voluntary program where you opt into higher taxes to have your student loans forgiven. The burden for this luxury shouldn't fall on the taxpayer without consequence to those receiving the benefits.
