WASHINGTON (AP) — The Obama administration says 7.3 million people have signed up for subsidized private health insurance under the health care law — down from 8 million reported earlier this year.

So they claimed 8 million signed up by April 15th, but now the total is 7.3 million by Aug 15th?

Right before mid term elections I would expect to see a spike to somewhere around 35 million.

To be corrected after mid terms. Computer error and such.

I see one issue that will be hit at by the proponents of this legislation... Not saying it is a mistake, but they say "Subsidized". Was the 8m claim months ago the number of subsidized people or total people?

Apparently some did:

As expected, the latest figures showed slippage. Insurers had said that about 10 percent of their new policyholders failed to seal the deal by paying their first month's premium.

So if they are currently at 7.3m as of a month ago, where was it predicted to be?

The original goal was 7m by April 15th, what did they predict by this point

Also, we still don't know how many are "newly" insured, because that was the push. I'd imagine a decent number of people who lost employer coverage or their old plans, resigned up and got subsidized coverage.

I lost coverage under my old group plan, and found something on my own. I didn't want to rely on the govt. for anything.

Is that un American now???

I'm afraid we're going to have to suspend you for the first half of Tennessee's next game.

So who's gonna pay for any care the deadbeats received between then and now? 10% is a pretty big number.

Just be glad a lying, cheating, corrupt-beyond-repair government told you the truth on 9/11.

I've heard that the 'sign up' numbers are accurate...but...that a lot of people 'signed up' and got cards...then never made a payment! So...they have a card and show up to the hospital with a card...but there was no way to confirm if they made a payment. I suspect that there were about 700k people pulling that stunt...thus the drop in the numbers.

Where there's a will...there's a way form some jack asses to rip off the system.
