If some of have seen in the past how private ems and fire work you’d seriously reconsider wanting them private. There are some decent ones, but even those have way too many struggles problems. It’s nothing for a private ems or fire system to get up and leave after saying frick I’m done. Close everything down, especially ems, has happened many times. Don’t know of any cases public, especially fire departments that run the ambulance service where that happens, extremely rare if it does. Plus, most, not all, but mos, private services will damn near hire anybody off the street.

It is definitely something... Don't know if it is a mixture of BOTS and people posting to keep their alters from getting hacked or something...

I'm a Minarchist. Even though I'm ok with the concept of publicly funded roads and other infrastructure... I think it should be much easier for individuals and companies to build private for profit roads.

The problem with your line of thinking is that you think that the market is always better

The market has done an absolute fricking shite job at providing internet in this country

And who do you think holds the FCC licenses you have to acquire to build out internet services? And do they put severe restrictions on who gets those and what you’re permitted to do with them?

The answer to that would be the government and yes. The road to a universally shitty product always leads back to government control.

I really wonder how much of this is due to actual market inefficiencies vs obstacles like licensing and bureaucracy.

I have my suspicions, but nothing concrete on which to levy an accusation.

All of your suspicions are correct. Licensing and government bureaucrats are the main holdup for building broadband and wireless networks; followed closely by land leases and real estate contracts. Once you clear those you can have a tower and service up in under 3 months.

Its like the goddamn pro-IRA "oneshotpaddy" fricker last week. They are trying it on a weekly basis now. They haven't yet figured out how to be subtle and always bait their hooks WAY TOO SHINY, whether they are posing as leftist or rightist.

These spook fricks GLOW IN THE DAMN DARK.

The only reason for government is to protect OUR private property. National Defense, everything else can be privatized and should be.

Those will be crooked, disconnected roads without the power of eminent domain.

I’m kind of waiting for one of our anti-Kelo conservatives to come along and write that we should give private companies a degree of eminent domain power to make it so

If we are just talking about at the federal level, then I'd say military and federal courts only.

If we're talking about feds and state, I'd fully agree with the monarchism grouping you list.

I’m no bot; just pointing out that campaigning on the platform of eradicating public education is completely unrealistic. Sorry if that appears to be a bit comment.

Do you not want new people to add to the conversation?

I agree.

People like them cause "they save me money".

The reality is that private prisons are a business just like anywhere else. They need criminals jailed for profit, not benefit of the population. This has a twofold effect. They influence the court systems to keep the gravy train running, so courts are more likely to pass give sentences beneficial to the prisons. This always influences the ways laws may be interpreted in order to get a conviction.
