Left that morning from Vernon Parish to go play golf at Sam Rayburn. Heard about the first plane on car radio. Got to the course and walked into the pro shop just in time to see the second plane on their tv. Watched coverage for three hours then headed back home. Golf didn't even cross our minds, obviously

as I posted on facebook last night I was nine years old at the time and still in school was unaware of anything happening that day until around 4:30 in the evening when I got home my day at school was the same as it always was running and playing tag, football, hide and seek, etc. but at precisely 4:30 pm my family turned on the local news and footage of two large planes crashing into two large planes. I asked what was happening and they told me "Bad People" were responsible that was always my dads way of telling me stuff like this by saying "Bad People did it"

working 4 blocks from the Sears Tower. Internet was basically useless, no TV's. Listening to the radio and watching the Sears Tower thinking it was next. Not long after they evacuated the entire downtown area. Pretty serene train ride back to the burbs. Not a sound on the train the entire way home.

No planes in their air for what, 4 days?
People stranded at airports all over the country and world.
Sad, sad day in our nation's history.

Not only did they know in advance , but they were held for about a month and then told their story on Israeli tv. One of them says “we were there to document the event “
How can you document something unless you know it’s going to happen

I was cutting my grass. Had just returned from deployment to Saudi Arabia about a week before. Lady next door came over and told me what was going on.

When I got to PT the first plane had hit and someone mentioned it. I think we all assumed it was a Cessna or something like that. Walking back from PT the word was already going around that a second plane hit. I showered and went to the chow hall and that was the first time I saw actual footage of the second crash. Immediately clear that we were going to war.

I was in college. Dropped my classes and enlisted the next day.

Did you get to send any to their 70 virgins?

Driving into work in a Charlotte NC. Got to my office and kept the radio on all morning. They had a TV in the break room that everyone piled into to watch.

I'll just say that I wish I could've done more.

Good on ya.
I was in grad school part time and a goat humper was in the computer lab at the same time. He pulled up an email with a animation of the twin towers falling and he smiled and chuckled.
I stood up and asked him to share what was funny. Of course he declined and hit the door quickly.
I asked my FBI buddy I played basketball if he would ask dude some questions. I never asked if he followed up. Likely not becauae our laws protect such behavior.

Honestly, I don't know how I'd react to that shite.

Well. We probably both had the same initial thought on what to do.

I was 28 at the time. At work. Head partner in firm caming racing down the hall to my bosses office and right in front of me he told her a plane just flew into the WTC. Her best friend worked in one of the Towers so she freaked out. Me and another legal assistant immediately went into the breakroom and turned on the tv. Not too long after, we were standing there watching the TV and another attorney came in and I said those buildings were going to collapse and he said they weren't. Then about 2 minutes later, the first tower came down.
Got home from work and immediately turned on the news. First time seeing the aftermath and I buried my head in my hands, began to cry thinking there was no way anyone in those buildings survived.
The days after were eerie since there were no planes in the sky. Will NEVER FORGET.

High school geometry class. They rolled in the tv and turned it on after the first one.

I was working Wing Readiness at Aviano AB Italy.
I saw the second plane hit on The Today Show on AFN in our lobby. It didn’t take long for the Wing CC to ask for 100% accountability and my office was the in charge of the process. It took 72 hours but we finally did it.
Before all hell broke loose I did get to call my parents and tell them what was going on. They were still asleep. Then I called my brother because it was his 37th birthday. He told me he just wanted us to get the bastards. He is no longer with us so I take this day to remember him.
