I have a had a 30-06 for 30 plus years and killed dozens of deer with it, some at longer distances than the shooter did. Unless you are using teflon coated bullets, like Fusion they generally leave massive exit wounds. No way in in hell a 30-06 bullet gets stuck on any bone in your body. It would shatter the frick out of it and go through it, particularly a neck bones. (Fusion bullets are designed to explode like a grenade when they hit a bone)

They have yet to give us any ballistics on the bullet I have heard.

There was some discussion of it hitting his bullet resistant vest and then going upward to lodge in his neck but experts are all saying bullshite.

But I agree where is the shooter? If he dies before talking I am calling bullshite on all of it.

The size of the hole isn't just about the bullet, it's about what it's hitting. If it hits a tougher area that offers more resistance, then it's going to do a lot more when it comes to exit wounds and such.

For example, if you shoot a bullet through a piece of paper, it's going to leave a very small hole. There is no resistance to transfer the energy through the object. If you shoot a bullet through a deers lungs, there is lots of resistance from the skin, bones, organs and so forth to transfer the energy to a larger area.

A human neck is probably the place on the body with the least amount of resistance possible unless you hit the spine. Some muscles there, but not much and it's quickly right back out the other side before the energy can transfer much.

So I don't think you should expect massive exit wounds at all.

I question the so called weapons experts and so forth because I'm not an expert. But I grew up around guns and this is just kind of basic understanding that there is more than 1 factor involved to these things.
