Nope. You should look at the source documents more closely. They were the ones who were making plans to fight the US before the US ever joined the war. They were also making plans to invade the USSR during the time period (actually well before), and referred to both America and the USSR as their ultimate enemies.

They had limitless imperial ambitions, as all empires do.

I say that because the Germans were utterly explicit about that. There's a book on German naval logistics which shows that Germany considered the US a possible rival well before the Nazi's were in power, which fits in with the geopolitical aspirations of the German Empire too.
