When Nashville's identity politics are more important than the kids.

Nashville hired a unqualified and corrupt black con man to run the MNPS in the ground then replace him with who? An even lesser qualified black woman.
Meanwhile, one of Middle Tennessee's best Director of Schools will likely leave for Atlanta and Nashville will let him go...because he's white. Yep, they are more concerned with optics than the kids in the district. It's sad but libs have no shame.

Looney has had some really bad black eyes on decisions he’s made here lately. We need someone without his baggage. Williamson Co. TN is arguably the best public school district in the US.
Williamson Co School and Metro Schools (Nashville) are apples to unicorns. Mike has nothing to do with Metro. He will be replaced by a high quality individual. I would bet we are the most conservative county in a conservative state.

If I remember right, Nashville offered Looney the job back before they hired that idiot Joseph. Looney initially accepted then backed out because he realized Williamson was a much better job.

Nashville is being invaded by escapees from Chicago, Detroit, NY,NJ...I go to Nashville every years trying to get some of my work/poetry/songs published. Every year the city loses some of it's charming personality and hospitality. The friendly Southerners are being taken over by greedy selfish yanks. Sorry if the truth hurts! But its a fact. It's one of the fastest growing cities in US. Fact!

Nashville native here. You are all spot on. My city has been taken over and run into the ground over the past 7 years or so. It’s painful to witness firsthand.

You may be right. I know Trump won Williamson Co 63-29 over Clinton. Considering many stayed home since it was a virtual lock for Trump, we’re probably closer to 70% Republican. That’s pretty solid red.

It's a red county, but to say it's the most conservative in a conservative state isn't correct. Nearly every county in East TN is more conservative than Williamson County.

I moved to Nashville in March 2002.
I loved it...couldn’t believe it had such a small town feel.
Now the old places that made the personality are either gone or going.
Things I miss most:
Sub Stop
The old porn district (Gulch)
Not hearing yankee accents
Buying a house in Crieve Hall for $150K

It’s growing, but the location is not nearly as ideal as Nashville. Healthcare and music are 2 unique billion dollar industries already in place in Nashville as well. I believe Asheville is more on par with a city like Huntsville vs Nashville.

This is happening all over the country - in "enlightened areas" - and the primary targets seem to be school superintendents and police chiefs. There also seems to be a rash of unqualified prosecutors that have been elected. It seems like these places are giving some crumbs to certain groups with the hope that they can be controlled by the people who are actually qualified to do their jobs. I have no idea why someone would think you could put an incompetent person in charge of something and have anything other than trouble as the result.
We have a new school super that has just announced that he's planning on following the Obama era policy of ignoring juvenile issues much like the ones that lead to the Parkland killings. I'm sure everything will turn out just fine
