Legit question... Can someone obtain a marriage license if one or both individuals are illegal?

I don't know how they do it, but yes they can. My wife and I knew a young couple in L.A., maybe about 20 years ago, who got married. He was legal, she was not. Still married btw, and still living in L.A.

No you don't see this happening near that level in Texas where there are lot's of Mexicans. LA is what it is...A shite Hole with a Marxist mayor.

There's a city full of gardeners, janitors, fruit pickers, nannies, maids, etc. who are Mexican and who are in the USA illegally, but they live and work openly. Almost all of them are paid in cash and the people who employ them probably know that there person is illegal

Sounds like there's a little more ILLEGAL in these illegals. There's no way people are living like this for years and not falsifying a few government and financial documents along the way, plus, are they reporting all that cash?

The person doing the hiring isn't required to report the payment of a gardener or domestic help in many cases, and probably not in typical cases, but the person being paid is always required to.

Good luck. Some of these people have been deported or returned home many times.

Obeying the law isn’t complicated. Saying it is enables lawbreakers. The only people it is complicated for are the ones benefiting from cheap labor.

In other words, we don't really have to follow all laws.

Can I pick and choose which laws I must follow and which ones are "complicated"?

I was going 74 in a 55 officer because I was trying to get home to pee. It's complicated.

nothing else needs to be said. just because "its been happening" doesn't make it right then, or now, or in the future.

Of course, and I said as much in the OP.

Your synopsis of LA will be EVERY major city in 30 years.

It’s still illegal. Nothing complicated about that.

You started an OP for this?

Although I appreciate the complexity of the situation, many of us have known this for 30 or more years.

We watched as business in L.A. (especially East) were forced out. Fences put up. Mexican's shooting guns on holidays, Restaurants moved to Spanish menus and not speaking English and the tremendous 'cash' economy from illegals being in the area. We remember wanting a national referendum on 'English Only' in our schools.

I love how people think [not implying this is you, op] - because they've been there, they have a right to remain... They have a right to protest... They have a right to burn the city down... They only have one right - that is to be deported and try to come in legally.

As a collection of States and a Country - It shouldn't have happened. That blame falls on every community leader, politician, business owner, and even us as taxpayers for allowing it to grow and fester.

But it has to stop. We are almost bankrupt as a country, and we have no choice now.

The deeper the tick is buried, the harder it is to remove.

It doesn't mean you should just leave the tick.

i wasn't there nearly as long as you, not even in LA, camp Pendleton, San Diego, and it has been a long time since I've been there....but not having much enforcement in years past is the reason why we're having backlash now. they think they are entitled to our country, while a lot of them still hate the US, fly their flags, and send their under the table cash back to their country. as someone else stated, its illegal no matter how\why\who\what\where or when tries to make sense of it. if it would have been enforced from the onset, we're not here today, but here we are.

Texas is a big state. It mostly certainly is happening in cities like Laredo, Brownsville, and El Paso

My post isn't about Trump's actions. It's about the pushback from the locals.
