RBG mailed in her ruling already so she’s covered for the election disputes in November. It’s postmarked 11/19/20

Nominated by the Executive and the Senate advises and consents.
That is all.
All the screaming and the gnashing of teeth that is soon to follow means nothing. The Constitution is the precedent.

When does the senate adjourn for this term? May be a lame duck process.

You could have a lame-duck President nominating a justice approved by a lame-duck senate. It just has to happen before Jan. 1 when new senate takes over.
