When the progressives took the Democratic party from the liberals? 2005/2006 or so? The Obama era?

When did these totalitarian views become common among Democrats instead of just a small faction?

The PC movement started "recommending" words that we shouldn't use 25-30 years ago.

The Obama era?

The IRS blocking Obama's political opponents from participating in the electoral process was as egregious as it gets.

I would say that using the FBI to spy on political enemies was even worse. Both is the kind of shite that the Soviets did.

That was soft censorship.

They are pretty open about it now. Look how many are totally okay with social media platforms scrubbing conservative views.

That's about right.

They had freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and right to own guns.

Give some examples

-European speech codes enacted with the support of left-wing and center-left parties.

-University speech codes that have been enacted across the country by progressives that prohibit offensive speech or conduct.

-The rise of the critical race theory and identity politics, which perpetuate the idea that the 1st Amendment is a tool of institutional prejudice and that speech equals violence.
