Fun fact: When the Emperor did not want to be merciful at the end of a gladiator fight, he would actually give a thumbs up flicking his thumb to communicate "cut his head off". Thumbs down meant "swords down" and to let the losing gladiator go.

I thought the same thing when the dems were doing that. They should have all been counted as Yes!

What’s funny/ironic is that the movie Gladiator got it backwards. The thumbs up or down was not whether they lived, but if they died.

So a thumbs down for a defeated gladiator was a good thing, meant he wouldn’t die.

So if we go by the ancient custom...they basically all have her a yes haha
