Blacks and white shots each other, a total of 12 people were killed (10 white, 2 black) and it’s unclear who shot first or why

So it was a shooting where Blacks killed white people but claim victimhood?

OK man, you’re right.

It’s totally random why the Tulsa Massacre is all over the news today.

No, it was the destruction of 35 city blocks in the black community that followed the questionable events at the courthouse.

Funny how it is being pushed now.

No, it's not funny. It's the 100 year anniversary. This event occurred in 1921.

It obvious why it’s in the news, but not obvious why it’s over the top, with new calls for reparations, calls to rebuild it, etc.

Biden going there, media, music stars, Hollywood, big speeches.

There’s been a lot of destruction of businesses around the country in the last year, along with deaths. No one seemed to care.

So they waited 100 years to rant for weeks about it? No 50 year rant, 75 year rant, ...?

The event isn't even able to be confirmed as true or black Wallstreet even existing. Name one black Wallstreet since the time or any remnants of this utopia.

If it really was as bad as they're saying today it wouldn't have taken 100 years to be crowed about constantly by the left.

You aren't that dense, are you?

You understand that there is a lot of documented violence from the Reconstruction era until the Civil Rights Movement that doesn't get mentioned? Even events that weren't explicitly racial like The Battle of Blair Mountain barely get a blip. Red Summer of 1919 was a massive event that we know a lot about, but it barely has any remembrance in the mainstream.

It was just a mostly peaceful protest. I don't understand why it's being considered a big deal.

What was the basis of it being called “black Wall Street”?

Were there investment banks, brokerages, etc?

Or was it just basically a black business district, such as existed (and exists) in many cities around the country, and this is a We Wuz Kangs type situation.

So it's all Whitey's fault.. Black victimhood has no bounds.

Now they want “reparations” and a new “Black Wall Street”

Guess we can help them and make the current wall street whites only.

There were efforts to document the event starting in the 1940s. What probably drove it into the national conversation was its depiction in The Watchmen, stemming from Coates's article in 2014. But the Tulsa Massacre wasn't really an isolated event during that time period, or after the Civil War. There were many events that didn't get mainstream attention, for various reasons, among them, few outlets at the time were interested in publishing them.
