What’s the true story of the “Tulsa Massacre?”

Whenever this many people I despise are united in pushing something, I default to not believing them.
Now they want “reparations” and a new “Black Wall Street”

Funny how it is being pushed now.

It pales in comparison to the 1804 Haitian genocide of whites.

Or the ones going on in Zimbabwe and parts of South Africa right now.

A black man was arrested for allegedly assaulting a white woman (unclear if he actually did or not)
Rumors spread the man was about to be lynched (unclear if he actually was going to be) so a group of black men go to protest at the courthouse and some came with weapons
A struggle ensued between a white man and one of the black protestors, a shot ends up being fired (unclear by who or if it was intentional or not)
Crowd disperses at the courthouse, and the local whites proceed to burn the local black district to the ground

So the blacks that had weapons at the courthouse let them burn their stuff down?

Imagine what will be told about George Floyd’s death and the riots afterward 100 years from now...that’s about as accurate as what’s being said about Tulsa..

Black guy has his way with a white woman. White men capture him and gather to hang him at the courthouse. Blacks show up to stop it. Blacks shoot some white men. White mens relatives kill everything that moves.

It happened 100 years ago to the day, so not exactly random.

Let wiki FIFY.
The massacre began during the Memorial Day weekend after 19-year-old Dick Rowland, a Black shoeshiner, was accused of assaulting Sarah Page, the 17-year-old White elevator operator of the nearby Drexel Building. He was taken into custody. After the arrest, rumors spread through the city that Rowland was to be lynched. Upon hearing reports that a mob of hundreds of White men had gathered around the jail where Rowland was being kept, a group of 75 Black men, some of whom were armed, arrived at the jail in order to ensure that Rowland would not be lynched. The sheriff persuaded the group to leave the jail, assuring them that he had the situation under control. A shot was fired, and then, according to the reports of the sheriff, "all hell broke loose." At the end of the firefight, 12 people were killed: 10 White and 2 Black. As news of these deaths spread throughout the city, mob violence exploded.[2] White rioters rampaged through the Black neighborhood that night and the next morning, killing men and burning and looting stores and homes. Around noon on June 1, the Oklahoma National Guard imposed martial law, effectively ending the massacre.

Do any of those have the same ring as “Exactly 100 years ago.....”
Just answering your question why everyone is talking about it today

It’s unclear what happened, but the evidence points most strongly towards the black man (Derick Rowland) tripping and falling onto the woman (Sarah Page) and a store clerk reporting the incident as an assault. The woman herself refused to press charges, Rowland was never tried or convicted, he left Tulsa and died in the 1960s in an industrial explosion. It’s very unlikely he actually assaulted anyone based on the available evidence.

It’s unclear whether they were planning to lynch him or not. Lynchings still occurred at the time but were being seen more and more as gravely immoral by white society. All we know is there was a rumor he was going to be lynched.

Blacks shoot some white men
Blacks and white shots each other, a total of 12 people were killed (10 white, 2 black) and it’s unclear who shot first or why. It’s very possible the initial shot was an unintentional discharge during a struggle. Most agree the incident started with one of the white men trying to grab a black man’s gun and the first shot was in the ensuing struggle.

So just to clarify, you don’t understand why an event that happened exactly 100 years ago to the day, is being talked about on the news?

This leaves out the gunfight that occurred between the armed black and white men after the random shot rang out.

If it really was as bad as they're saying today it wouldn't have taken 100 years to be crowed about constantly by the left.
You aren't that dense, are you?

This was Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1921. Any black resistance to a white mob would only have two potential outcomes: Death by the mob in horrific fashion, or execution via kangaroo proceedings after the fact.
The only reason more blacks weren’t killed is because they largely didn’t resist.
