Democrat’s Shutting The Gov Down

Not according to trump.

This is all about trump not wanting to look weak in front of Ann Coulter. She lit his arse up last week when he was getting ready to sign the last bill.

Your thread title claims dems are responsible and yet you must see that trump already claimed responsibility.
See:
Donald Trump said a shutdown would be on him. Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer were happy to agree

President Donald Trump signaled Tuesday that he would take responsibility if the government shuts down next week over a fight for border wall funding.

None of you have proven a point other than not allowing a “win” when it comes to you not wanting a secure border.

He could have taken the $1.5B for border security, hired more border security agents, bought more drones, etc. You know, the things that have been working.

What makes you an expert on security and who the hell has said this is all they need?

I can tell you the answers. First, you have no fricking clue and are an ignorant dumbass for even trying to post on this subject. As a former Force Protection Officer for a major Naval Base I can tell you absolutely no one with an ounce of common sense would say that they can secure anything with just more patrols and drones. A no shite physical barrier, supplemented by patrols/drones, is the biggest deterrent out there. Those that say otherwise are about as dumb as those Air Force generals who said that the Ground Combat Element was obsolete with the advent of air superiority. Secondly, anyone that agrees with patrols and drones is a clueless political hack. ABSOLUTELY NO ONE WITH AN EXPERIENCE WOULD EVER SAY THEY COULD SECURE ANYTHING WITH JUST PATROLS AND DRONES. If that was true I say we stop building walls around FOBs going forward.

You're an idiot. Dems want DACA. That's their win. Trump could have had $25 bil for his wall already, wouldn't allow DACA.

Keep up

Why is DACA more important than a secure border?

That’s cute snowflake. Everybody knows that the Dems and GOPe beholden to special interests are the ones responsible for this shut down. I for one is ecstatic that we have a POTUS with the balls to stand up to them!

Trump already said himself he owns the shutdown when he proudly refused to sign the CR.

Ask the American people why it's more important than a wall

Your question is very biased since it lays the blame on Democrats. Both parties are dug in on one issue...a wall, not border security. We have border security, and Democrats are willing to spend more on that, just not a symbolic, expensive, impractical and nearly useless wall. There are already border barriers where practical. Eminent domain, terrain, impacts on animals, plus a wall reduces visibility, which makes us less safe. A wall would split people’s land. It is impractical on waterways and mountainous terrain. It is nearly useless because the problem is primarily from overstays, not illegal crossings. Criminals find other ways, so the wall would be nearly useless. Drones, sensors, some barriers, patrols and most importantly employer punishment would resolve any remaining illegal migration.

What would make anyone believe that Dems want to shut the border in the first place?

Trump said he'd veto it

Well, first he said he'd sign it, then he got chastised by some pundits and changed his mind

Meh so he wanted a little bit more.

Trump last year announced that he was ending the Obama-era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, or DACA, but gave Congress until March 5 to come up with a legislative fix. With the clock ticking, Trump appeared to agree to a pair of deals with Democrats, then backed out and demanded more money for a border wall. He also sought an overhaul of the legal immigration system to prevent immigrants from sponsoring their family members and an end to a visa lottery aimed at expanding diversity.

On the House side, the Republican Study Committee, a group of more than 150 lawmakers, announced its support for a bill written by Reps. Bob Goodlatte, R-Va., Raúl Labrador, R-Idaho, and Michael McCaul, R-Texas. Their plan would offer DACA recipients a three-year renewal of legal status, allowing them to continue to live and work in the country with no special path to citizenship. It also contains a host of stringent features that are anathema to Democrats, including reducing legal immigration by 25 percent, adding border patrol agents and denying certain funding to cities that refuse to cooperate with federal immigration authorities.

The White House endorsed that bill, and it appeared to be gaining traction among conservatives. NumbersUSA, a group that advocates for reduced immigration, announcing its support Tuesday.

Looks like Chuckie got his arse kicked.

Top Senate Democrat Chuck Schumer on Tuesday pulled back an offer of $25 billion for President Donald Trump’s long-promised southern border wall, as lawmakers scrambled to figure out how to push a deal to protect 700,000 or more so-called Dreamer immigrants from deportation.

Schumer had made the offer last Friday in a last-ditch effort to head off a government shutdown, then came scalding criticism from his party’s liberal activist base that Democrats had given up too easily in reopening the government without more concrete promises on immigration.

“We’re going to have to start on a new basis, and the wall offer’s off the table,” Schumer said.
“We’re going to have to start on a new basis, and the wall offer’s off the table,” Schumer, D-N.Y., told reporters Tuesday.
