There are two very large waves in the Atlantic right now. Due to being early in the season and location, they probably won't be a problem. Although the one coming off Africa tonight is well, massive.

The climatological setup in the Atlantic is analogous to 2004/2005.

Gien how this year has one, I've shopped for the worst, and if you live in the SE, get your 'Cane kits together now if you haven't already.

I predict right now, September is gonna be a bumpy ride, one after another.

I'll bookmark this so you can make fun of me in November.

If there's a Karen this year, we are all fricked.

There won't a hurricane Karen until 2025. If there was one this year (2 storms away, Kyle) that would have freaked me out.

I hope we get a massive one who runs up the East Coast and goes in around the D.C. Area and then parks out over manhattan.

Not many people have.
Since 1924, there have been 35 documented hurricanes in the North Atlantic that reached this level—and of those, five have hit the United States at Category 5 strengtH.

We have lived in USVI since 2009. Every September is a bumpy ride. Just look at the statistics. Deal with it.

And I’m sure they’ll be racists hurricanes disproportionately impacting minorities spawned by Trump’s hatred of science.

September 2004 was when Ivan ripped through Pensacola. The damage was biblical. I hope like hell you're wrong, but I have been thinking we've been lucky for quite some time. This may be where our luck runs out. As if this year hasn't been shitty enough.

That's pretty easy to say, when you're in Atlanta.

In Taiwan on the 34th floor of the complex in a typhoon that pushed the building around. Was not fun but I didn’t die and nothing I could do about it.

A cat 3 on the cape fear river doing land map navigation stuff. Suffered a broken knee cap. Getting in a shelter.

Wu Flu will kill the hurricanes unless they're masked because those winds carry rain droplets and the waves do not socially distance. All is well if you shelter in a closed down school.

Yes.

Are you now predicting a Cat 5 in September? If so tell me what path it will take Nostradamus.

Hurricanes are expected yearly events. Pandemics and deadly destructive riots are not. Maybe the Yellowstone volcano explosion or a huge meteor smacking the earth would be a better example.

Been thru 2 , Andrew and Camille. Possibly 3, but I think Katrina reached 5 status and came in as a Cat 4. I’m too lazy to go look it up. I remember Camille wreaking havoc as a youngster and were just far enough away from the eyewall path as to not feel the brunt of the storm. It was so deadly because of it’s compactness. Total devastation similar to but worse than what hit the panhandle a few years back. I was working on a turnaround North of Homestead Fl When Andrew came roaring in. That ended that income stream for quite a spell.
I guess I’m lucky huh ? If I never see another one it’ll still be too soon.
