While 1948 started modern day Israel, there have been Jews in that region longer than almost any other people.

You can't say "there were no Jews then" when there have been Jews since recorded history. What there hasn't always been, until Muhamed made up his bullshite, were muslims.

Your post was an excellent summary, except for this misstatement. I get your point, but there was violent conflict between Muslim and Jews under Ottoman rule.


I mean, it was centuries. Yes there were conflicts. America didnt even exist for a century before a civil war. So yes, I should have put "relatively" peaceful

So wrong. There were plenty of Jews there. The Ottomans, who controlled the territory prior to Britain taking over after WW1 did not care if you were a Jew as long as you paid taxes.

Funny thing is, the Brits tried several times to divide the region based on ethnic divisions. All ethnicites imvolved voted it down.
