What type of gun did the shooter use?

Haven't seen that. Figure has to be an assault rifle based on the gun control people's response.

The question should be would this murderer have lived a peaceful life and never killed anyone had he not been able to get a gun.
I am not so sure he would have just sat back and said to himself "Oh well, I want to murder random people but gosh darn I can't get a gun."
His car or some poison would have probably been even more effective. I am always amazed at how few these idiots are able to kill.

An AR-15 is NOT An Assault Rifle, Assault Weapon, Weapon of War, Machine Gun, or any stupid shite like that. An AR-15 is simply a semi-automatic rifle. Just because it’s black and scary looking doesn’t mean a thing, but the people that don’t know anything about guns believes all the BS!!
