Knowing my risk factor so did I and my wife did the same because of me. She's the one that gets a bad case of cabin fever after about 2 days at home. She has sacrificed her lifestyle a helluva lot more than I have for the last month.

I live in central Florida and have a job that is vital. Every morning when I go to work, I see me and a lot of guys driving all kinds of pick up trucks to work. Not much else on the roads each day. That tells me who actually makes this nation work.

We still have water, power, sewer, police, corrections, groceries, truckers and healthcare. We are the folks who make this nation.

It’s taught me how easily and quickly the public will roll over while their rights are stripped.

Save me government. Save me.

Or those are simply the industries that cannot work remotely.

You think attorneys aren’t working right now?
Financial advisors/investors?
Architects?
Accountants?
Sales reps?

/insert 100 other industries here/

What it has taught me is that we were in way better financial shape than I ever thought. I have yet to meet one person living paycheck to paycheck that couldn't afford to pay any of their bills. In fact, I've seen people in stores spending money like they were on vacation. Now I'm sure the sample size of a single person in Lafayette Louisiana is meaningless, but from perspective I think a lot more people had more money saved up than what has been reported.

I won’t say it “taught” as much as reiterated what I already knew.

Most people are incapable of evaluating raw information and formulating their own logical conclusions based on that information.

Instead, they seek out someone else’s “interpretation” based on their preconceived notions and then regurgitate those talking points ad nauseam regardless of their accuracy.

All the logical arguments in the world won’t move them off that point because they are emotionally, rather than intellectually, invested in their “side.”

When I was younger, I wondered how the German people got so onboard with supporting Hitler and allowing him to do what he did. Now I understand better.

To be fair, they were also starving due to hyperinflation. Hitler’s evil positions weren’t exactly front and center in his rise to power. His main attraction was that he promised to break the stranglehold that the UK, France, and US had in the German economy following WWI. Which he did and the German economy skyrocketed.

I'd think it's more of our government rolled over and stripped us of some of those rights. I mean if they shut down shite just how am I suppose to show my disdain for them doing it - go to a restaurant, bar, movie house, etc. that are closed?

What it has taught me is that if the fed gov actually told us about ufo’s,people would lose their shite. We as a people in general don’t seem to handle some things well.

This is my line of thinking as well. It separated the wolves vs the sheep. The top 1% vs the 99%.
