I was working on my rundown today for one of my newscasts, earlier, and came across a terrorism massacre story that happened today. 12 dead. I was like "nah" and grabbed a story from CNN about it being National Fetuccine Alfredo Day

Trump finds himself lying often because he is simply not a very smart individual. The word salads he often forms are likely to contain falsehoods and dumb shite that he didn't actively mean to include.
It's like les miles. Many LSU fans called les miles a liar on two key occasions.
1) The Ole miss game in 2009 where he told jefferon to spike the ball, thus losign them the game. He said some dumb shite after the game that made it appear he was denying it despite the camera catching his mouth shouting the words.
2) 2016 preseason when he said the offense would be "different" and then the wisconsin fiasco.
Those appear to be lies, but on closer scrutiny, they are statements coming out of the mouth of a man who largely doesn't know what he is talking about. For something to be a lie it has to be purposeful.
If a 6 year old kid says he is 5'11 because he doesn't understand what the hell the measurement means, he is not lying, he is just spewing dumb shite.

But then he doubles down on it! The 1.5M at the inauguration, the 3-5M illegal votes, the tons of terror attacks that go unreported (where they released a document with 78 attacks that HAD been copiously reported on and misspelled "attacker" 22 times and "San Bernardino"). The entire purpose of Trump's lie about terror attacks going uncovered by the media is to turn average Americans against the media. It's patently obvious that this is his goal.
