Elons motivation for supporting Trump was self preservation, not ideological reasons.
He stated several times before the election that if the Dems won, he would probably end up in prison.

Remember how hard the Dems were going after him once he bought Twitter and opened it up???
Elon has now exposed how shallow his belief is in America First ideas. He's soley concerned with Elon First.

some of yall will do anything and come up with anything...other than criticizing Trump.

It would take more than buying Twitter

You don't remember??? Dems were furious that he was opening up Twitter to free speech and no longer silencing opinions of the right.
They were losing their minds.

Nah.

Disagree man.

DOGE is a noble America first concept. As is free speech.

Smh.... it was noble to Elon, until it wasn't, which is my point. Elon has done a complete 180.
Obviously, his "noble" belief had very shallow roots.
Its so obvious....

Is there any scenario in your mind where Trump deserves criticism for proposing more spending and racking up more debt?

Nah.... i am not crazy about the BBB, but Im not basically accusing Trump of pedophilia either.
If Elon would've only criticized the BBB, thats fine, but he went much much farther. Irrational and unhinged.

That is precisely what would appear to have happened, didn't it?

After Trump was shot and said Fight! Fight! Fight! anyone with half a brain knew he was going to win. Elon supported Trump in an attempt to buy influence to help his companies. He is a mentally unstable narcissist who was stupid enough to think he could buy Trump. The ridiculous pedophile accusation was juvenile and stupid. I hope Trump sues him. Elon screwed the pooch. There is no coming back from this.

Agree with you, but additionally Id say Elon also feared for his businesses if Harris won.
I couldn't find the actual clips but Grok responded:
quote:

Elon Musk did not explicitly state on Joe Rogan's podcast that he would be jailed if Kamala Harris wins the presidency. However, in a November 2024 episode of The Joe Rogan Experience (#2223), Musk expressed concerns about the future of his platform X under a Harris administration, suggesting that it could face intensified pressure from advertiser boycotts and potential government actions. He speculated that a Harris administration might try to "shut down" X by leveraging regulatory or legal mechanisms, such as Department of Justice investigations. In a related October 2024 interview with Tucker Carlson, Musk made a more direct comment, saying, “If [Trump] loses, I’m f—ed,” and jokingly asked, “How long do you think my prison sentence is going to be?” This was in the context of his political activities and legal scrutiny over his business dealings

By criticizing a bill that would increase spending and the debt?

What are the odds that Musk starts locking out Republicans from X? The guy is obviously a loose cannon.

Idiots on this board hate a bill because retard Massie says so.

The only reason they hate it is because they trust CBO. CBO will never be favorable to a bill that cuts taxes.

I hate it because it's 1,038 pages long and they are voting on it without actually reading it.

The average American is not going to read all that (I'm still slogging through it) but we elect representatives and it is reasonable to expect them to do the job we are paying them to do and read the bills they are voting on. They play games with taking forever to release the bill, then the last minute revisions but "WE HAVE TO VOTE RIGHT NOW OR THE ENTIRE WORLD WILL SHUT DOWN!"

But if they have time to play around on twitter and go on TV giving interviews, they also have time to actually do their job and write/release the bills in a timely manner, then read the bills before they vote on them.
This one was not the only egregiously long bill and by far not the worst - looking at the longest bill passed in Congressional history, the Consolidated Appropriations Act passed in December 2020 at 5,593 pages which they also did not read.

I would like to see a minimum time limit set on legislation between it's release and voting on it, say an hour per page? If they used that guideline, this bill would have needed 43 days between the committee publishing it and when they could vote on it. The House passed this one in less than 2.

He won't he knows Elon's just trying to bait him into it so he can force the truth out of him in court. It's a trap Trump fricked around and found out

Elon was a big supporter of Project 2025. When Project 2025 was polling in the single digits he had the foresight to change the name of part of the project to DOGE. While the Heritage Foundation works on the courts and DOJ he was in charge of dismantling other departments that were part of Project 2025.

Losing Elon is a big loss for supporters of Project 2025. Not only with leadership, but with money

When it comes to Project 2025 Trump is a moderate. He doesn’t support all their policies

Elon pissed off the left beyond repair. There’s no going back for him. I think his mental breakdowns are him realizing how screwed he might be

Anyone who actually thinks he cares deeply about cutting wasteful spending is crazy
