I'd love it if low IQ NPC slop like "globalism", "lawfare", and "corrupt political establishment" died out as common talking points on this board. It would mean we'd be discussing more in-depth topics again.

Opinion polls establish public opinion. In a democracy, whether pubic opinion is being followed is a sign of whether or not that population has control over their own destiny.
Control over your own destiny, effectively, = sovereignty.
So public opinion polls in a democracy are a great way to tell whether or not a nation (its people) is sovereign.
