Saudi Arabia? Are we sure the current Saudi regime orchestrated it or did Saudi officials join up with OBL and participate. The middle east is messy messy place.

The Holy Land.
The world would be better if we stopped placing significance on that place. Some day there will be nothing left. Hopefully humans and Christianity survives the destruction of earth in a few billion years, at which point all the fighting over the Holy Land will be for nothing.

All out regional war as either the Saudis or Iranians seek to fill the power vacuum left after our withdrawal.

This is the only thing I don’t have complete confidence in. Some of these radical Islamic Terrorists do have the courage of their convictions. If they didn’t, why do anything at all? Just give Iran whatever fissile material it wants if you honestly didn’t think anyone would challenge with a nuke.

Anybody that wanted to try that could get a nuke now.

The world should be more concerned the Pakistanis have the nuke.

High oil prices if the region descends into war/anarchy. That’s it and that’s what it has always been...and Israel.

We aren't backing out of the ME. The oil issue aside, constant vigilance and the threat of an immediate in area response are the only ways to keep a TO from bringing this to our door step again. We may not liking sending our young men and women there to fight but it is better than fighting them here.

Perhaps you should consider joining the LDS.

Then you could walk where Jesus walked without leaving the continent. And we could recall the resources currently being used to protect the Levant and use them to guard the US from invasion by nonbelievers.

Proxy war vs China. No one will talk about it, but we are protecting our oil reserves.

I think a better description is a “deal with the devil”...or a deal with the “lesser evil” given policy goals.

And I am. I’m am concerned that people that have the courage of their convictions having nukes. Mutually assured destruction was good but doesn’t work if people welcome their own demise.

Why would anyone provoke a nuclear war with the USA?? We have the largest arsenal of nuclear weapons there is.

Because the doomsday scenario is needed to scare the populace into giving the government more power and defense contractors more money. Seriously, we were told the Red Menace was going to be the end of us, only for Communism to collapse in the late 1980's. Now it's the Muslims. In 30 years, it'll be a different boogeyman.

The worst thing that can happen is that it would open the door for a terrorist state to develop relatively unfettered
and then attack american interests worldwide and domestic.

but other than that, there's no risk. we need to just focus on issues at home.
