He is winning, so there’s no off ramp.
Experts I viewed last night were speaking of Russia's style of such an engagement is organization of "caldrons" where the cities (and embedded Uk mil) are surrounded.
That is to be followed by creation of humanitarian corridors where citizens of the cities could depart if wished; same with opposing army - put weapons down and march out.
Supposedly two Eastern cities are already in these and several more up to and including 'caldrons' with several more being developed as we speak including Kiev. The experts said it was about over.

Determining how he can win" or "lose" would involve understanding his ultimate goals. Here's a running list of his alleged goals since not invading Ukraine:
Secure Safety of Ethnic Russians in Ukraine
De-Nazify Ukraine
De-Militarize Ukraine
Create Buffer to Nato
Prevent Ukraine from joining NATO or EU
Install Puppet Government in Ukraine
Vague:
Something about Dirty Bombs...
Something about Bio-Labs...
2 weeks in, he has failed miserably in every measurable aspect, and has made most of them worse than before he invaded.
He's also managed to seriously harm Russia's economy, and is in the process of isolating them from the Western world. Putin is a bully and he's ruthless, but he's still human and can make mistakes. Full-scale invasion was a mistake, and even if he manages to salvage the situation, Russia will be worse off than before.

I think the trap is almost sprung. Russia is isolated in the banking and economic sectors and stretched thin militarily. Its present situation is both untenable and unsustainable. If the war does not change dramatically to its favor in the coming days, it will end up trading oil for basic necessities such as imported food. It will have no other currency to exchange.
The only off ramp that I see is for Putin to make a peace deal within the next week, declare some sort of victory, and attempt to re-establish economic relations with the West. If that does not materialize, I see a breakdown in central government power within Russia that will continue until the leadership is changed.
Are you aware that Putin cut a deal with Xi right before the Olympics, TB? When China takes Tiawan, the supply chain re critical goods for the West will red line. Throw in inflation run amuck and a flood of unemployable immigrants coming in to buck up the Dem street base (who the MSM will gas/light) just whose central government will likely see a "breakdown".
Our FBI is stalking mothers who appear at school board meetings and Trudeau is freezing the bank accounts and arresting protestors who have had it with the mask/vaccine BS.
Putin don't have an off ramp. He's full steam ahead. Hand in hand with the CCP.

"Reliable sources have confirmed that Putin offered to stop the war instantly if Kyiv give up its army, change its constitution to become a permanently neutral country in accordance with the Budapest Agreement, and acknowledge Crimea as part of Russia along with Luhansk and Donetsk are to be free separate republics. Zelensky has refused."
