We are never getting out of the ME, period. If the US ever decided leave and cease being the dominant influence in the region, China and Russia would move in and expand their influence.

I’m just sick of the US having to be the worlds police force. Should have shipped the Shah’s arse back to Tehran with a bow on his head back in 1979 and we might not be in this predicament today.

I have thought about this for literally 50 years.
I am not sure our national interests are served any longer by blowing stuff up in that part of the world.
The vast majority of the people in the region hate us.
We can get along fine without their oil.
Israel can fight its own battles now in all spectra of weaponry.
I just don’t see any upside anymore.
One of my professors many years ago (a Kissinger protege) explained that the problems in the ME are the only insoluble ones on earth due to tribalism, sectarianism, ethnocentricism, international sympathies, and 2000 years of over-arching historical conflict.
I think he was right.
I think he advised presidents.
I think they did not listen.

Uh...it would take the world to pay us 100,000,000 billion dollars to get out of the Middle East because of this small thing thing called oil.

OK. Why do we need to expend national treasure to secure the supply of oil to the rest of the world when we are energy independent and a net exporter of oil? Let the Europeans, the Russians, the Chinese, the Indians deal with all of it themselves and treat with the psychotic, tribal, deluded zealots of the region? Keep a battle group from the 6th fleet off the eastern Mediterranean coast with one instruction to all: “Don’t frick with Israel and if you do and Israel starts to blow you up, we told you so.”

Israel needs to tell the US to frick off, then we'll leave the middle east. But they will always need someone to back them up.

The only way I see it happening is if the mainland of the US was invaded. And the only reason would be pulling the troops back to defend our home.
And as soon as we kicked whoevers arse back across whichever pond they hopped across, we'd end right back up in the ME.

This will require the US shadow government to be completely dismantled. Plain and simple. The problem is that most people are clueless to it's existence and believe the lies they've been told for years.
It's a false need for earl and a secret need for her-on, and a LOT of lying, crooked, dastardly, motherfrickers.

I've always felt, that the US should just remove all of their military out of all the other countries. Leave them in US territories, and just mind our own shite. If something comes up, mobilize and handle bidness.

Winner.
Presently, Netanyahu has Trump massaging his balls and Trump is afraid to squeeze.
And if you want to get out of the Middle East, John Bolton is the last person you want to have as an adviser. Not sure Trump thought that far ahead. He was too busy looking at Amazon's profits.
