What is it about the Dims and their ability to turn their politics on a dime?

I've called them the "Slippery Slope" party, political shapeshifters and generally just old fashioned POS but I'm somewhat impressed with their sneaky arse ways.
Y'all remember when the Dims were the party of you don't trust the government or the related intelligence agencies? I do, because I was a classical 60's/70's liberal and that was our mantra. Now these Prog/Dim SOB's are championing the DOJ, the FBI, or any other part of government (never Trumpers) that's trying to oust the POTUS but why?
Because along with infiltrating academia, Hollywood and pop culture they've now got their damn hooks into the deepest reaches of the Deep State apparatus. Thanks Clinton, Obammy, Brennan, Clapper, Comey, Holder, Lynch, and the list goes on.
