What? I'm just following what I know about Russian culture, about Putin's sense of humor and his love of showing off his powers. I don't think Trump had ANYTHING to do with this story (assuming it is somewhat true). He would have been a very innocent and unwitting "participant" in this.

The only reason nobody believes this story is because bodily fluids are so taboo in American culture. They're not as taboo in eastern Europe / Russia.

I'm confused. I'm pretty sure that I'm the only Trump fan that I've ever seen acknowledge that there might be some truth to the Russian pee tape dossier. Why are you criticizing me for doing the very thing that you say I'm not capable of doing as I'm doing it?

I could be wrong, but I feel like Putin is smart enough to know that Trump's intervention in Syria is about 1/10th of what Hillary Clinton or Marco Rubio would be doing right now.

That's my problem with this - I hate to think that Putin legit has something on Trump. It's an amazing scenario to consider though. It's wilder than anything (even Shakespeare) could have come up with.

And just to state - I love Trump. I don't blame him and know he's not a willing / dupe in any of this (in the still unlikely scenario that it's true).

For everything I've laid on in this thread, I would still say it's most likely NOT true if I had to decide. I'm just saying that it's not as insane as we all once thought it was.

Exactly. I'm not hating on Trump, I'm mostly just remarking on Putin's relentlessness and unwillingness to let ANY opportunity to get dirt on ANYbody pass.

What are the odds that Trump one day becomes POTUS? Like .0005% at that time? And yet Putin spends mega bucks to get something on him.

Not saying it's true, just saying that Putin is other worldly and I wouldn't put it past him.

I also wouldn't bet against Trump ultimately getting one over on Putin regardless of the truth of this story.

I agree. Trumps negotiating tactics are to make a big noise then negotiate from a position of strength.

But, Putin cannot allow Trump to expose Russian weakness.

Internationally, Putin is running a bluff similar to Trump’ Big Noise/Negotiate strategy. Only Trump is the leader of the world’s only super power, and Putin is the leader of a regional power with nukes and an Italian level economy.

Domestically, Putin is feeding Russian irredentism and delusions of grandeur for popular support, and must maintain the undefeatable strong man image for real power and survival.

Allowing Trump to send Russians home in body bags, and to have all see the vaunted Russia air defense system impotently allowing American, British, and French missiles turn allied infrastructure to rubble, strikes at Putin’s very core.

If he could stop Trump, he would!
