re: What happens when gas gets to $7-$8 even in the south?

I took on a part time job for some extra income. I make $250 per week at this job and spend $80 per week in gas just driving to and from there. Pretty neat.

Gas is going up quickly in the past couple days. 30-40 cent increases in my area. Serious question - will the economy come to a grinding halt at a certain price point? Will we see the bottom fall out then and then subsequent deflation due to immediate loss of demand?
I think everyone needs to expect their electricity bill to be extremely high this summer.
Things are going to get worse…not better.

What’s even crazier is I came back to Starkville this past week and diesel was about $0.30 cheaper than on the coast…it’s $5.25 everywhere or more on the coast as of Sunday and I got it for $4.95 in Starkville. Makes no sense the refinery is right there in Pascagoula how is it cheaper 260 miles North?? I think I we are about to get a rude awakening on diesel and it’s gonna skyrocket which really sucks for me because I have two trucks neither are gas rigs.

And they are delivering it through vaccines and not letting them industrialize and getting countries so in debt that have to keep digging up their resources to pay off the debt they can never pay back. It’s the same people doing it now that did it then. Central bankers, elite globalists. It’s not your every day white person. We are all just bystanders in their game, but they have that idiot believing otherwise because he’s lazy and too stupid to understand anything

Nope. We will have a major war somewhere, or another world war. Wartime economies are great...unless you're on the losing side. Look at history.

But you aren’t in California like I am. My starting point was already in the mid $3s during the good times. That’s why I’ve been saying these increases are actually hitting a lot of you harder than it is us. The last thing you want is us up around $10. Forget about sticking it to us and the libs out here. It might sound good but the reality of what that does to you guys back East is catastrophic and the nation can’t afford anymore economic problems.

No , It will be because the trucks that make this country run are about to come to a halt, and when they do it will be hard to get anything, including food. If gas is that much diesel could go to $10 and there are sources that say this summer it might even be scarce or rationed.
I think you missed the point. Calls for violence aren't protected by the first amendment.

More people work from home a few days a week to make up for the commute. Save gas.
Less weekend leisure driving etc.

had to replace my old Lawn Mower and sold out and purchased a battery powered...frankly the damn thing works great and folds away nicely.
it's all good till you have to replace the battery in 2 or 3 years, and it's half the cost of the mower.
edit to say, yes, my Ego weed eater battery is rechargeable too. After 3 years a recharge gives it about half the needed power. That's a problem when it was never as strong as the gas powered weedeaters anyway, which I went back to.

Oh yeah. I'd have to recharge it every time we used it. We have a pretty big yard so it never would hold a charge long enough if we did it all.

Recession. It is going to happen. I can only hope that the Democrats get the blame for it.

The cucks at Starbuck won't be able to keep blaming chinavirus for revenue and profit declines for another year... Inflation and high gas price reality about to dick slap them.
People are pretty good at cutting out a $5 coffee rather than a gallon of gas.
