Can someone explain this to me like I’m Joe Biden? Thank you!

Nothing. It's how the system was built

A Senate Majority Leader can only be removed or replaced by a majority vote of their own party's caucus, or by an internal party rule change that triggers an ouster. Because the position is not established by the U.S. Constitution or formal Senate rules, the full Senate does not vote on the matter.
The primary methods to remove a Majority Leader include:
Internal Party Vote (Caucus/Conference): Each party elects its floor leader by a simple majority vote of its members in private. The party caucus can vote to hold a new leadership election at any time, which requires securing a simple majority of that party's senators.
Calling a Special Meeting: Rank-and-file senators can trigger a special leadership meeting. The rules vary by party, but typically a small percentage of caucus members (e.g., 20%) must submit a written request to the conference chair to force a vote on leadership removal.
Expiration of Term: Leadership positions are tied to the two-year congressional term. At the beginning of a new Congress, the party holds entirely new elections, allowing members to choose a different leader without formally "removing" the incumbent mid-term.
Voluntary Resignation: A leader can be pressured to step down by their colleagues. If enough members of their party withhold support or threaten to force a vote, the leader may choose to resign to avoid a public defeat.

5 senators need to move to remove Thune and select a new majority leader. 27 of 53 senate republicans must vote to remove Thune. Then, have senators declare to be majority leader and vote. Once a new leader is selected by a majority of republicans, it is presented to the full senate. No demorat will vote for a republican so 50+1 republicans need to vote for a new republican leader.

This is supposed to be how it works, in addition, SFP can come aboard and knight for Thune and shat on whomever the alternative is, that’s how you know it’s moving correctly.
Most likely however is that the rino crew would vote with dems to put Schumer back in power.
This process will have to wait until Barr, Paxton, Letlow and the new bunch are in session. But there is still the risk that the obstructionist still kill it by submitting to their true leaders.

You need 5 senators to call for a vote to remove him. Then it's a simple majority vote among the party members.

Not going to happen unless the Democrats take the Senate.
