What direction is our country really headed in?

This question is a lot bigger than just republican, democrat, and independent. Its more of a tug of war with different thoughts and theories that ultimately wins out for one side or the other.
From a demographics stand point the discussion begins:
White Americans - 75.72%
Black Americans - 16.06%
Asian Americans - 7.09%
Native Americans - 1.13%
Non-Hispanic whites - 53.89%
Non-Hispanic blacks - 14.77%
Non-White/Black Hispanic 23.12%
75.72% - 53.89% = 21.83%
16.06% - 14.77% = 1.29%
By age:
00 - 14 years: 18.62%
15 - 24 years: 13.12%
25 - 54 years: 39.29%
55 - 64 years: 12.94%
65 - up years: 16.03%
Where exactly are we headed as a nation. Is the endgame simply a liberal society or can conservatives adapt to changing times. Are millennials the true key to success for either party going forward? Swaying that generation seems to be the focus of both parties at the present time.

Really? I honestly never thought about it but when I see that I would have guessed the difference wasn't nearly that much.

Funny how some don’t get this. It will take a while but will happen.

Populism will win out.
Our nation is in severe debt. Corporations are in severe debt. Americans are in debt. Students are graduating with debt many will never be able to repay.
Wages are not rising in the middle class.
All politicians are promising more and more stuff.
The end result, no matter who is in power, will be a debt jubilee.

Black Americans have been and will continue to be a stable percentage of the population - 12-14%
Not sure where OP got is his numbers. They are wrong.
Latinos is the huge changing demographics in the country.

It's all just paper. Within our borders, we grow more food than we can eat, we have more fossil fuels than we can burn in two-life times, we have millions upon millions acres of uninhabited arable land, laden with resources that we need, we have in place an infrastructure, though a little worn around the edges, better than most of the world. There could be a reset like the USSR had in the late '80s, but considering what we have in place and if we all can work together, white, black, brown, yellow, purple, etc we'll be fine.

Where's the Christians vs non-Christians trend
Posted on 4/18/20 at 10:45 am to Degrelle
When you remove the Hispanics that consider themselves white it drops to 52%. Also whites make up under 50% of new births. But we aren’t allowed to talk about the forces behind this shift

When the whole world is in debt no one is in debt is how they look at it.
We pay (and our kids/grandkids pay) to bail out the banks who default who then take over all the assets from the people paying to bail them out. LOL.

Conservatism by its very nature is always "losing" as society evolves around it.
If we leave aside the Uniparty and their ultimate goals and focus only on the section of the electorate that usually votes GOP - can they grow their ranks? Maybe a little, not without losing some in trade. Will they see any political success in the near future? No, not really.
Who are the people open to individualism/personal responsibility as a governing style? Anyone white person who doesn't already vote GOP is a major social liberal, any minority is likely vastly more collectivist. Which do you target with an amended platform?

Macro trends are clear, but these sorts of assessments never take into account generational changes in attitudes that can lessen or negate what the macro trend shows.
What's the Buckley quote - "a conservative is a liberal who was mugged by reality" 18-25's are young and dumb (no offense intended) and by the time most hit their 30's and definitely their 40's their belief systems are significantly altered from their youth.
