Simple question. We are faced with basically two options at this point (1) war with Iran or (2) continued sanctions on Iran. So, this leads us to a very important question. What are the ramifications of each options? What will result from each?

Also, if anyone has a third option, please share your thoughts. What would that option be? What would be the ramifications of your option?

War with Iran has obvious consequences.

Continued sanctions will just cause them to act out more.

Definitely a fine line to balance

I don't want America to start the fight. But I sure as hell want them to end it.

If Iran directly attacks American ships or citizens we retaliate with extreme prejudice. But until they attack us we don't attack them.

Other countries have their own militaries. They can use them.

I don’t know why you people act like we are going to be launching an invasion of Iran.

At most we lob a few missiles.

I’m not sure it would take a declared war by Congress to stop these shenanigans.
A few strategically placed strikes oughta do the trick.

What if the winner is Iran and when it’s over they’re the dominant power in the Middle East and now when you combine their oil with that of Saudi Arabia, they also control the majority of the world’s oil reserve?

Best option is to declare a world wide ban of all trade with Iran.

Have all Western financial systems confiscate their money. Let the Royal Navy with USN and NATO support an embargo from a distance.

That's going to be a long war that will eat up both countries resources

both would be a shell of their former selves

not to mention the mass insurgency if you have Persians occupying Arab land. Every goat fricker and Sunni through out the world would flock to the Arabian peninsula.

We produce enough oil not to worry about that shite

and when its all over give the winner our terms if they don't like em well frick em.

No Brits captured = No war. My guess is tankers will get an escort thru the SoH.

why?

Their beef pre dates Islam

eventually they will fight again.

Through out history Persians have been far superior to Arabs until the discovery of oil.

I'm pretty familiar with the history. Your scenario of massive insurgency and likely Shiite genocide will be a humanitarian crisis and lead to millions of refugees fleeing Iran.

Im sure if an all out war were to break out between the two it would likely be considered as caused by military attack by Iran upon Britain thus triggering NATO defense pact.

It would probably look like, if anything between the two, Britain first conducting a very limited punitive operation, Iran then somehow responding and in doing so raising the stakes which would be seen as act of war thus triggering NATO and U.S. involvement.

However, Iran seems to know where the absolute red lines are and straddle them but barely refrain from crossing.

Keep sanctions until they fuk up blow something of importance up that belongs to us. Then sit back and watch the fireworks. It will be like firecrackers in an aunt pile.

Honestly I don't see the Saudi Army getting far once it lands in Iran

They are getting their shite pushed in down in Yemen
