That should be compared to the cost of unchecked illegal immigration over the next 25 years.
You can't honestly believe that Trump shutting down the government will stop illegal immigration? No one can be that brainwashed.

1.132 trillion dollar budget, who gives a frick about that. Sometime you got to squeeze their balls to get them to think clearly.

Small cost compared to the benefit a secure border will bring.

the vast majority of USCIS is funded by fees paid by those seeking benefits so they should stay open...

So you don't know.
Wouldn't that be vital to any CBA for a wall to keep these people out?

So you don't know either.
Everybody wants to talk about what a burden these people are to our country, but no one wants to calculate what they contribute.

So if they qualify for a social program, they aren’t producing for the economy.
Wrong, you can still nominally qualify for benefits, and contribute to the economy.
quote:
Let me keep that $70k and I will contribute it to the economy.
Sorry, you're already compensated for your market value contribution to the economy. The way to increase your compensation is simply to make your contribution more valuable.
quote:
Probably not $70k...They are a burden.
So you're uncertain what they contribute, but you're certain they're a burden. Do you care about how stupid that makes you look?

Well, I guess the democrats need to give us our damn wall then.

if youre suggesting they are a value to the economy because they spend taxpayer dollars in a better way than tax payers themselves do....
which seems to be a point you’re trying to make....
then you’re full blown pro-wealth distribution and you should probably move to a country that better supports your philosophy.

According to my source, Defense is 606B. Everything else is $637.
50 fricking percent.

I read that this shutdown would only shutdown 25% of the government and none of it is essential services.
Which raises the question of why is there any non essential spending?

True. Government shut downs are terribly inefficient.
Our government running at full capacity, in its current incarnation, is likely even more inefficient.

You might want to get new sources. And learn the difference between discretionary and non-discretionary spending that comprise the budget.

You sure? Because my source is specific to what has been approved and appropriated so far for FY19, as well as what remains and is proposed.
Your source is dated 2016.

Well, it's not, so you're wrong again. Do you even know what contributing to the economy means? These people WORK. What value does their work have in our economy? You cannot say with any validity that they are a burden if you don't know what they contribute. It's called "Maths".

pro-wealth distribution
That doesn't even make sense. You think the flow of money stops at poor people?
Step 1. Buy stock in Walmart.
Step 2. Pass laws sending money to poor people.
Step 3. Watch the poor people spend all their new money at Walmart.
Step 4. Profit.

Hey Poindexter...you asked the question.
How much do you think they contribute?
Posted on 12/12/18 at 3:30 pm to BobBoucher
Numbers don't lie, but liars use numbers. I think that when all things are put in context "military" spending is about 16%.
