Ok. I do not believe you will find such a board. Yes, TD does lean right compared to other boards out there but TD also allows for some pretty open discourse from both sides and I’ve not seen too many cases where someone will get banned - someone has to almost really try hard to earn that. There are a lot of other sites out there that allow for no dissent.

Yes, TD and this politics board is one of the best around and doesn't seem like folks get banned to unreasonably - although I was for rightly saying Les should have been fired in 2015 so you never know how mod bias affects things. If I wasn't a die hard LSU fan I would have never come back so think about how we treat our liberal visitors who will just run back to the other liberal feedback loops when they encounter some of the attitudes evident on this thread (troy, possumslayer, and others who ill come back and edit to name).

Some of y’all take this board way to seriously and I say that as a 28 yr old.

I think most posters here, the ones that actually post daily are in their 40s and 50s.

You literally have maybe 50 posters that start threads and actually try in some way respond to posts. You have probably like 200 lurkers.

This is such a small arse representation and most of everyone here lives and is from the south.

I enjoy this board because I pick to follow the posters that I like and they generally have very thoughtful discussions. The 90% of responses are absolutely retarded and dog shite but it’s because everyone is angry. Both sides are so polarized right now.

I actually don’t mind Hank as a poster at all he’s very consistent. Though I think he does come on here just to get folks riled up like DB.

As a general rule, yes. If you were just talking about abortion, it varies greatly from country to country. What country are you discussing?

Someone (and I forget who) is maintaining a silly list of the board “liberals.” It had forty or fifty names, the last time I paid any attention to it.

Perhaps the keeper of said list can post it, and we can all take a look.

This should definitely happen and hopefully we can have a positive discussion without the vitriol. We should encourage liberals to join the conversation. Conversely, it would be great if we could get our best posters and organize an outreach posting campaign to the uber liberal and conservative boards and figure out a way to move the misguided on both sides forward!

Ill go through and make a list of posters that seem potentially capable of this in a spin-off thread.

It’s good you sensed the sarcasm, because it is simply not possible to be socially liberal, and fiscally conservative.

This guy seems to get it.

Can you actually follow posters? Would be great to be able to just pay attention to people that are interesting and thoughtful.

I really haven't paid attention or developed opinions of most posters and could probably not even name 10 by name from memory so just noticing Hank today and he seems pretty cool/reasonable. Sounds like we might not agree about abortion but doesn't mean he is a deranged devil. He has definitely been a highlight of this thread for me.

Some of yall are ridiculous...I have said multiple times on this thread actually that I exclude abortion issue from the socially liberal bent. Life is life, with the morning after, birth control, education, etc available it's always been hard to say yeah cool just abort a living and future human because the mother decides she doesn't want to go through the pregnancy process. After having two kids I know for a fact that as soon as I found out my wife was pregnant, that they were my children an I would have been heartbroken to lose them.

Well sure, but being that all of the libertarian leaning put together doesn’t amount to a hill of beans in comparison to socialist democrats, what it really means is welfare state cradle to grave taxpayer funded existence, and open borders taxpayer funded criminal illegal immigration, and taxpayer funded healthcare, sex changes, and college education, among a million other socially liberal positions.

I think keeping them riled up is probably more accurate. Most of these folks don't need any help getting worked up.

Like you said, too many people take this too seriously. Worse, they post with nothing but emotion. That very rarely invites reasonable discussion.

Socially liberal and fiscally “conservative“ would say that they do not think government has any role in abortion, including paying for someone to obtain one.

I consider myself libertarian on almost all issues, however, this I don’t understand. The standard libertarian view is the government’s purpose is to protect life, liberty and property. I don’t understand how abortion wouldn’t fall under life.

That’s not accurate at all. On an average day I would say less than 100 different posters post here throughout the day. But for simplicity sake let’s say 100.

You’re saying only 1-2 throughout the day are left leaning? That’s not accurate whatsoever
