Y'all have it backwards. Trump's party will remain the Republicans.
The chaos which will occur will happen in the Democrat party, as it becomes clear that the current group can't present a national candidate.
There will be a lot of 'never Trumper' Republicans coming over (ala Kasich), wanting to appear as a more respectable and professional option than the Lunatic Left. Keep in mind, under our current system, the Dems (like the Republicans) get an automatic entry into the national elections. A new party would not.
The question is, does the Lunatic Left take that without a fight, do they fight and win, or do they split off and form their own Socialist party?

Looking at US history, successful 3rd parties usually rise to become one of two parties because one of the old 2 parties sort of implodes; like when the Republican Party of Lincoln emerged and took the place of the old Whig Party in the 1850s.
