It was a loss leader IIRC.

They had to keep it stocked with all kinds of crap not on their normal menu and just had a flat cost for access to it. That was in addition to losing seating to have it.

Rax had something similar and it was one of the reasons the chain went bust, as it was trying to do WAY too many things outside their core area (roast beef, turkey, ham, etc) such as a salad bar, shrimp, etc.

That spicy chicken sandwich is one to be had. Pretty tasty.

Did the $15 an hour ever get granted with fast food workers? If so that is why your meals are more expensive. The people that wanted the $15/hr really didn’t help themselves in the long run.

Brilliant idea. Not sure why it took so long.

Kickass sundaes, they used to have one down the street from my house.

IIRC, there was an elephant graveyard of dead franchises like Mrs Winners, Rax, Burger Tyme / TJ Cinnamon’s, etc, down that road.

Does Wendy's have 24-hour stores or late-night hours? Think about drunk people pulling up at 2am. They won't care what their burger costs.

They just say "open Late". And they rarely are.

They have a late night menu IIRC, or have had it before. Covid screwed up a lot of places that had 24 hour service.

And frankly from what I have seen of their employees, they are up all night anyway.

There’s one near me that stays open really late, I think 1 or 2 am.

I went to Wendy's yesterday for the first time in years and the spicy chicken sandwich combo was $9.77 after tax. WTF.

It’s tasty considering it’s fast food. It’s a toss up whether the lettuce is crispy or is soft, but take it off if you don’t like it. Just depends on the location you get it from.

In these inflated times, fast food and sit down restaurant prices are simply too high.

We do okay, but these prices - for what you get - are largely ridiculous.

Pretty much.

The options are to raise prices, cut portions, or a mix of both in order to stay competitive.

What the frick does this have to do with politics?

The word 'politics' stems from the word 'policy' which means: 'How things are done.' This is a totally new business policy that seems odd. Much like the new policy that TV commercials depict the typical married couple as a black and a white. Perhaps you want that topic banned too?

This wont really affect our fast food addicted culture at all. It will just even our the lines.

Maybe not even that. People will still buy a $15 Wendy's meal.

Once the wage rates (and raw materials for their products) were increased, fast food was poised for trouble.

We are spending more on groceries, which is another inflation cesspool, but per meal it is still cheaper than anything fast food can touch.
