I really don’t attend governmental meetings for entertainment. The people that do, always seem a bit weird to me.

Good Lord, I should hope not!

I’m just saying life is very short, and it’s shorter for some than others. I hate for you to get to that end of life review people say you have, and then having to sit through all those meetings and Kate night browsing of Redfin and Zillow listings again. That sounds like you invented purgatory for yourself

Got any tips on some dirt cheap gulf front property in the Florida panhandle left by people fleeing man caused sea level rise? Ocean front in South Georgia?

It should be absolute bottom basement prices with the sea rise.

Stillwright Point Homes

A lot of these people are looking to sell. Some very good deals pop up because people want out. For a few months a year you have to park at the Winn Dixie and walk the half mile or so home.

"we" did hit 130.
in death valley, as predicted.

It's no hotter than it's ever been before

1. not exactly true. many "day of" local records falling.
2. the key you intentionally missed is that the 110 days are not just one or two but weeks on end.

that is new.

So if the record they broke was from the 1950’s, was there global cooling between then and yesterday?

I don’t pretend to know the science, but I live in the same area more or less I did when I was a kid, and February here was always in the 30-40s. Sometimes a great deal colder, and sometimes a little warmer, but not much. For the last 7 years or so it is regularly in the high 50s to 60s in February and sometimes in the 70s for weeks at a time. It’s actually pretty nice. It’s like living in LA without the wackos. So far it hasn’t gone up equivalently in the summer, so I’m sitting pretty year round, but something is happening

Media quoting the hottest place in the desert as if it’s typical temp across the country is typical for them. No better than click-bait PT Barnum wanna be motherfrickers.

No. Sorry. It's not new, even in terms of recorded history, much less in recent planetary terms.

We are in an ice age. One of only a few our planet has experienced. Currently we are enjoying a balmy interglacial maximum, likely the warmest climate the earth will experience for the next 110,000 years.

We are not quite as warm as the peak of the previous interstadial about 110K-yrs ago. We are about 9°F cooler on average than was the case 15M yrs ago as we moved to the present ice age. We are nearly 25°F cooler on average than was the case 50M years ago and beyond.

Earlier I put a link to the Key Largo neighborhood that had never had any flooding issues until about 5 years ago. During the fall, the roads are impassable. The county has come up with mitigation solutions, but it’s going to cost the people in the neighborhood $2,500 a month for 15 years as a result of the special taxing district the county created to pay for the work. For some retired folks on a budget it’s hard to come up with that money.
Maybe NC_Tigah could make a trip down there and tell them it’s all a hoax. The folks would probably appreciate being able to save some money.

Stop telling us about your neighborhood council meetings, please. I cannot express how boring that information is to everyone else. I think we all know that if you planning on being alive in three decades, you might not want to invest along the Florida and Gulf coasts. If you are retiring, who cares? Enjoy the scenery and if the flood waters get you, it’s not like it’s all that worse than a heart attack, and better than cancer

Hey! Welcome back. Just a few things I’m sure you simply overlooked last time you were here:

65 million years ago doesn't count.

Why not? Why can’t we have a comparison between a time with no emissions vs a time with it? A clear.. concise… well thought out answer please.

And why aren’t you limp wrists mad at John Kerry for his excessive fossil fuels emissions? Again. A clear… concise.. well thought out answer please.

Or just abandon the thread all together like usual.

I guess we will see you in a couple days again?

NC Tigah lives on the beach.
NC Tigah understands what both the actual science and an actual of 3mm is.
NC Tigah understands storm water flooding has not one damn thing to do with 3mm/yr sea level rise, but it does have to do with the civil engineering your effing imbeciles cannot seem to get right.

Next time you attend a meeting, let them know that.

They use the term Sunny day flooding because there is flood water without a storm. They’re building a sea wall, raising the roads, and improving the drainage.

The county mayor who is a Republican and a former state legislator lists combating sea level rise as her second most important initiative.

Waterfront property is hotter than ever, metaphorically speaking

Sure seems home buyers arent disturbed by climate alarmism. Including Obama.
