You can loosely say we "funded" both, but that's not the whole picture.

I agree. I'm not sure exactly if you're disagreeing with something I said on this thread or not. We supported Ho against the Japanese, then we supported France against Ho after China fell to communism because we believed that the communists were all under the control of Moscow (a belief which turned out to be wrong).

Our support to Ho was a drop in the bucket. By the end, the French were wearing US gear, and carrying American weapons. We gave them a carrier, complete with air group.
ETA. Not disagreeing, but it's a distortion to just say "we supported both", without explanation.

Yeah I definitely agree with that. There's no doubt that we went all in with the French. Ho was just one of many in the fight against Japan.
