We desperately need the Save America Act. Thats what this is about.

Trump understands we need the Save America Act before the mid terms. He's putting pressure on those who are on the fence. If Trump reveals that there was actually fraud in the 2020 election, the pressure to pass the bill, from the American people, might be too much for the likes of Thune to ignore.
It won't help in the mid terms, I don't think, but it will get the bill passed for the 2028 election.

I had read that we had until sometime in Aug to pass it so the midterms were covered
but today it's being claimed it's already too late
if the watered down version is passed it doesn't really matter

I hope it gets passed and implemented before midterms but I’m not really worried about midterms. I think we will be fine and currently we have a senate leader who can’t pass a bill. Midterms will make no difference either way. They can have fun impeaching him if they win but they won’t have the majority to get rid of Trump on a conviction. He’s also not broken any laws.

JD Vance could apply significant pressure to Thune and the Senate GOP if he would step up and override the unelected Parliamentarian regarding the abolishing of the Filibuster.
I understand he lacks the authority to issue a "ruling", but he could eliminate one of Thunes excuses.
If the Save Act is so important, shouldn't we see Trump's team making EVERY attempt possible to get it passed?
