What’s sad is probably believe that.
That’s what happened. I’m supposed to believe all of you unregistered foreign agents calling yourselves Christian Zionists suddenly spamming the board with anti Catholic rhetoric is organic and not at all related to Trump?

True. Even you are probably a good guy.

Me criticizing the Pope is not “anti-Catholic rhetoric” and has nothing to do with Trump. I’d have the same criticism for his words regardless of who the president is.
And my point stands. His timing of his speech was not accidental. He criticizes the US for its attack on Iran while having remained silent on what Iran has been doing for half a century. It’s selective outrage. And my point still stands that I find it astonishing he would follow that by going to a Muslim country and lay a wreath at a memorial for Muslim war dead when those same Muslims carried out horrible war crimes against Christian women and children.
But me criticizing this Pope’s words and actions in no way makes me “anti-Catholic.”
ETA: are you seriously accusing me of being “unregistered foreign agent”?

I think you fundamentally don’t understand the Pope and it is you that is choosing to be selectively outraged.
Here are some of his comments about the atrocities committed by Iran against its own people:

If you call yourself a Christian Zionist you’re no different than anyone else in this country that seeks to plunder our resources for the benefit of another nation.

quote:
Speaking after the Angelus on Jan. 11, the pope said: “My thoughts turn to the situation currently unfolding in the Middle East, especially in Iran and Syria, where ongoing tensions continue to claim many lives.” He added: “I hope and pray that dialogue and peace may be patiently nurtured in pursuit of the common good of the whole of society.”

it is the "We Hate Catholics and the Pope Board.
Intellectually dishonesty at its finest.
We’re a sports forum in South Louisiana. Half the board at least were raised catholic. 90% of my friends are catholic and not one of them can stand this pope or the last one

Please help me understand what makes you think I’ve ever called myself a “Christian Zionist.”

Enh, more than moments. You remind me of friends of mine.

What is your position on illegal immigrants in this country and much of Europe?

As a Catholic, I think the Pope needs to just shut up about politics. It's not his business.
Quite the opposite, actually.

This is no longer the "Political Talk Board" it is the "We Hate Catholics and the Pope Board.
I thought this was the "we hate joos and Israel" board according to some?
I've loved every Pope in my lifetime ... since Pius XII and through St JP II. I practically worshipped that man. I saw him preside over the Holl Mass at St Peters three times in the 80s and early 2000s combined ... including an Easter Mass in '85. PLUS I was in Williams-Brice Stadium in '87 when he held a major interchurch service and delivered a homily and blessed the stadium. It was a big deal ... it was truly spiritual.
Since St (SAINT) John Paul ... the church has changed. It began with Benedict, it got worse with Francis in a hurry and, while I had great hope for Leo ... it's not looking good right now, imho.
Francis and Leo both had/have South American third world (including Chicago) anti-American far left sensibilities ... which is why they were elected imho. Francis was shock and Leo is awe ... to appeal to immigrant third worlders in this hemisphere. To change the Church.
Muslims will soon own that other European hemisphere.
And China and Russia could give a fat baby's butt about either, quite frankly.
The Church is not what it was under John Paul II, especially.
It's not personal or anti anything ... it's an observation based upon decades of living it. Even my wife, the most ardent, devout, insanely Catholic (almost Jesuit level) human being I know ... she thinks Leo is headed in the wrong direction.
I've got five Godchildren ... we're old school in that regard, I take it seriously. Only one of them practice the faith and religiously attend Mass. They came up under Benedict, Francis ... and now Leo.
Anyways, there's a reason for that.
