You don’t think anyone in that chamber wants power?
"Hello, I would like power"

shite McCarthy humiliated himself and prostrated himself to get it and moved in to the office before he even got it. Now all of a sudden it is too hard to be that important?
He didn't think Gaetz could get the votes.
The next person will understand that Gaetz can, in fact, get the votes.

Why would he want the job?
According to you.
According to you.

Well, we know he wanted it at one time. Nobody else of substance (on the GOP side, at least) really applied.

Yeah and if there's one thing we know about politicians its that they would NEVER whore themselves out to amass power and money for themseleves.
Seriously, read what you wrote. THEY ALL frickING DO THAT TO BE IN CONGRESS ALREADY.

The whole "Uniparty" talking point is just silly. Mitch McConnell and his legacy with appointments to the federal courts is a perfect example of this, from breaking Senate custom to stall Merrick Garland to doing the same thing to get ACB in there immediately.
It's not silly. Just because they disagree on things and don't always work in concert, doesn't mean they don't agree on most things and work together extremely often.
The judiciary is one area where they have been successful.
Also, the uniparty doesn't mean they are actually one party. It's just means that they are not the polar opposites they portray themselves to be. They are more alike and agree more than their constituents want to believe.

Sounds like a real winner to me.

Most Americans agree on most things.

Only the polar ends of the spectrum try to paint this picture.
As TA has stated before, polar political purity

Then why did nobody of substance run against McCarthy last time? I think the 2nd most supported guy was Jim Jordan who specifically said he did not want the job.

Because before the Gaetz/McCarthy fight, no one had demands or cut deals to get the speakership. Stop being so naive and wake the F up

This just isn’t true. The GOP doesn’t have a vision for America. That’s it there’s nothing else.
They have a negative vision of what America shouldn’t be that it is now. But there’s no positive vision for what America looks like. That’s being communicated by anyone of any importance in the GOP.

That's because the GOP has become a tent party again like the GWB era. Today just made some of that distance between some tents greater.

Its frustrating having to explain things that you already know to you because you argue just to argue. You've been wrong on this whole situation and this is a continuation.
Congressional leadership is a turn-based thing. As I already explained earlier in this thread, you can't step out of turn when McCarthy was the front runner because if he wins, he will punish you to consolidate his gains. Feigning ignorance is not a good look.

My personal political priority is corralling the MIC/Intelligence apparatus.
The uniparty is in full agreement and support of the MIC/Intelligence, with very few exceptions.

So what's changed? KM is still in the same position he was in January.
He just got like 95% of the GOP to support him. You don't think he can still wield power within the party?
Your argument would make sense if the party voted to oust him. They didn't. The Democrats did.

This worked for 1 reason, Donald Trump became the only republican in 30 years to win Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin

It was McConnells plan and legacy, which was completely against the wishes of the DEMs.

America's economy is about to shite the bed and the main concern for Kevin and Mitch is funding Ukraine.
good riddance. KEVIN you stupid twat, you absolute embarrassment of an amoeba. now you can be a full time Ukraine supporter.

So, you really think there is a difference between Pubs and Dems based on who controls, that is so cute.
Uh, yeah. Have you seen the Supreme Court lately?
All these clowns think about is the time an R voted against something they wanted.
Big picture doesn't matter and they'd rather have a dem that votes against them every time than an R that isn't 100% in lockstep with themselves.

I contend that they are a tent party because of a lack of leader ship.
