Took a black friend on the boat with us in high school to ski and knee board.

He asked for sun tan lotion. I asked him why he needed that. He said something to the effect of "You think I"m trying to get darker". He was the joker of the crowd.

I had never thought about him "tanning" before. We died laughing. He still wouldn't get in the water and told us that "You crackers are lucky I even got in the boat. If it wasn't for the free beer, frick ya'll". We had to bribe him to join us with beer. I don't know if it was snakes or if he couldn't swim.
