But it doesn't, at least not necessarily. Some of the greatest scientific minds in history were Christians, or adopted a biblical worldview. The scientific method can be used by Christians and non-Christians alike. Christians have a great reason to be intellectually curious: the glory of God, who made all things.

I suppose you want a caveat on that, though. You want intellectual curiosity untethered to religious presuppositions. You seem to ascribe to the myth of neutrality.

quote:

and allows for shifting responsibility of one's behavior to an entity with no accountability.
I don't see that at all. The Bible teaches that all will be judged according to what they do in this life. There is responsibility to repent of individual sin. There are principles of justice that require accountability for action. Even the notion of election and reprobation still require accountability of the individual, regardless of whether they have spiritual ability to respond appropriately to the call of the gospel.

Finally, it's interesting to me that the perceived lack of intellectual curiosity and "shifting responsibility" bothers you, when an atheistic worldview provides no basis for any reason to be intellectually curious, nor does it provide a necessity for responsibility of any kind. In a purposeless, unguided, material universe, there is no "ought" of any kind, whether that be practical for science or learning, or moral (behavioral). Modern atheism supposes that we evolved from nothing out of chance, so where do moral or behavioral responsibilities come from if not from an arbitrary designation?

It's a shame that you are so quick to judge Christians when your own worldview is bankrupt and makes you--as the Bible says--a fool.

Everything I said in my post is accurate.

If you are unwilling to accept that, I have no interest in going in circles with you until, inevitably, we get to a point where you have nothing to offer but "my version of god says so."

We are currently living in the equivalent of 1930s Germany.

As usual, you are a fking idiot.

There are HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of incredibly intelligent, creative, productive devout Christians throughout History who have done more to benefit mankind than a sad, sky-screaming, pretend Conservatarian bitch like YOU could ever dream.

You're just a bich on a message board, nothing more.

But it's not accurate at all. You are generalizing based on your own presuppositions and biases against Christianity. You didn't even bother to address anything I said that contradicted your claim.

We've done this many times. My argument doesn't amount to "God says so", but that only (the Christian) God provides the necessary preconditions for intelligibility. I touch on that all the time, including my previous post about the arbitrary nature of obligations in your worldview. You adhere to an irrational worldview while you tout rationality. You cling to foolishness while you believe yourself to be wise.

Buckeye has shown time and time again he is nothing more than a broken down, angry old man.

It's LAUGHABLE to see someone who flings monkey shite on a message board lament the lack of positive influence of people who happen to be Christian while his life has amounted to nothing more than drunken rants on Social Media...
