I hate to say this but she put herself in an awful situation. Those capital police are rentacop quality at best….they aren’t law enforcement machines. This is a Darwin Award.

This is mostly correct. It also doesn’t absolve the cop of responsibility.

If they’re attacking federal buildings, especially during sessions of Congress where the peaceful, lawful transfer of power is taking place, then I’m ok with maintaining order and the rule of law.

Sure, but you can also do it by killing said woman climbing through a broken window in the middle of a riot intent on advancing on you while you’re guarding a secure area and/or VIPs.

No, you can't. Not legally at least. The fact that he refused to cooperate with the investigation into the shooting should tell you everything you need to know about its justification. He also lied in his interview he gave to the media when he said he gave her ample warning to stop before shooting her. Multiple officers testified to IA that he gave no such warning.
