You're kind of going off the rails, brother. There's reality and there's some sort of glorified ideal. You can hope for the glorified ideal all you want and still understand we are dealing with reality. As I see it, we are moving in a better direction toward my ideal under this reality than under many other possible alternatives I see. Your (our?) glorified ideal ain't falling from the sky.
