What was the explosive element of the bomb?

Would have to be pretty sophisticated to be small enough to be carried in a back-pack and have the ability to cause 'significant' damage. I dont see a fertilizer-based bomb being that powerful.

But was it an assault bomb? Single shot or bolt action bombs for hunting are fine, but there is just no place in society for high capacity assault bombs. Why would anyone need them?

Either way the NBA gets the blame right? (National Bomb Association) I hear they are against raising the age to 21 for fully semi automatic assault bombs.

Maybe we can start by outlawing only high capacity bump stock clip assault bombs, since those are the choice of school bombers everywhere.

I have a solution for this and the parkland incident.

You drag this little bastard to the Town square by his ears, give Jim Acosta 30 min to set his cameras up and you park a 9mm hollow point and blow his brain pan all over the schrubs.

Not only will this twisted little mfer not hurt anyone else ever, but you send a clear message to all the other little twisted fricks it there that our country has ZERO tolerance for this bullshite.

Was he wearing the bomb? Because that's the giveaway.

My guess is it probably had to do with placement as well as power. It could have been a pressure cooker bomb like the Boston Marathon bombers.

If the cooker wasn't sealed properly, then it couldn't blow up. That would explain the smoking and lack of an explosion.

Thank God the kid was an incompetent amateur.

Time to put the heat on wal mart to ban pressure cookers and clocks.
By the way has anyone seen clock boy ? Where was he during this incident?

It's almost like bombs are harder to actually kill people with than firearms.

What a crazy thought.

This goes to show what will happen if they can't get a gun. The idea that someone won't change their strategy is ridiculous and goes to show we aren't looking for the root of the problem.

Was this reported on any national news outlets? I didn't watch the news yesterday and this thread is the first I heard about it.

Bombs are weapons of war that have no place in our schools.

Ban them.

funny how that works: the item is unavailable for retail purchase, the would-be killer is forced to DIY and everyone goes home from school that day. how he acquired the components and instructions will be investigated, more loopholes will be closed, and the next would be bomber will have it that much more difficult. Kid should have just grabbed an AR.

Actually...it would be easier to cause a lot of damage with a bomb. All the work is done in the safety of your home, alone. When you’re at your target all you have to do is walk away.

Also, you’re much more likely to get out of it alive, as opposed to shooting.

This is my viewpoint as well.

You dont take the gun from the crazy person.

You take the crazy person out of open society, and put them in a place where they cannot hurt anyone else.

Like with the Cruz guy. If the police had gone to his house and confiscated all his guns, who can say he would not buy another one off the street or steal one. The only way to make sure he does not hurt anyone is to put the person in a secure place.
